Should I buy this rifle? Have a few other guns on my list before Ksar Klinton gets elected....but this would be about 700 bucks. I don't have any .308 rifles. any out there own this? Thanks

Get a ptr for like 900
>>31013087
save bit more money
buy PTR
unless the thought of playing "get the lemon or get the good" just thrills you.
>$700
>Century
$500 or less to be honestly familia.

Op here... The receiver, barrel, and trigger group are PTR... I'm not sure if the rest of the rifle makes a difference. If you own a PTR, what kind of MOA are you getting?
>>31013110
The trigger group is actually CETME. However, the trigger housing is PTR.
But seriously, save the extra couple hundred and treat yourself to a PTR. It's worth it.
>>31013110
>barrel
PTR doesn't make their own barrels; they get them from Green Mountain.
>>31013110
Doesnt matter when monkies are slapping parts on to it and doing shitty welds.
>>31013087
No. They're the rifle equivalent of a Taurus pistol. Other gun makers from Florida: Kel Tec, SCCY, Diamondback, Taurus US
>>31013110
The parts are from PTR. They're assembled by the Taurus of the US, Century. Spend the extra few hundred bucks and buy a PTR.
>>31013087
The c308 is a good way to start a .308 addiction
But for a few hundred more the PTR offers less of the Century quality control problems I.e dimpled primers, cruddy welds and meh tier triggers.
>>31013110
The receiver is not headspaced by PTR, the C308 headspace issues mean your shit will kaboom because roller locked guns really like headspace.
Avoid C308
This is now a PTR thread.
Getting 3" groups at 100 yards without much effort. If I shoot slowly and focus it gets 2" groups.

Exactly, just pay and extra 300 or so and get the full blooded PTR (and dont get the carbine, get the full length one too).
1000 for a semi auto 308 (with cheap mags to boot) is a great deal considering most start at 1500.
Or just assume it was gonna be 1500 to get a 308 and treat yourself to a PTR with 50 round X-Drums.
Because you know you want 50 rounders.
Op here.... I trust my /k/ommandos will look at PTR. Are there any other companies that make a G3 clone in the us? Best price on a PTR online? Gunrbiker has some for like 800ish
>>31013093
But that's a C308
I bought a C308, and I haven't had any issues with it. Granted what people say about Century is true and there is a big risk of getting a lemon. I've put around 800 rounds of ZQI 7.62x51, and Tula .308 through it, and it hasn't missed a beat.

No, that's a Federal Arms FA91 with cast aluminum receiver.
>>31016326
What kind of MOA are you getting?

Post bolt gap
