Those patriots did what we expect of any red-blooded American, they fought back and they won. Their sacrifice saved possibly hundreds more lives.

To roll this up into some kind of conspiracy theory cheapens the sacrifice that average Americans like you or I made in order to protect not only themselves, but hundreds or thousands of people they didn't even know. They're fucking heroes.

It's how I pray I can react in that kind of situation. You also left out, in my opinion, the most important and impactful phone call.

I don't know. That's the general public, but I feel like if it were a plane, now, people would react differently.

It's been said a lot over time, and I think it's true; they eventually fought back, but let it slide initially because they had expected a hostage situation or something. That happened a lot in the 80's, and people knew that, that's always how it went. They never thought it would turn out how 9/11 did, that was wholly unprecedented.

Now, if something like that happened, everyone's minds would immediately jump to 9/11. I don't know if it would prompt immediate combat, but I feel like people would react VERY differently to it now, however it goes. I also almost wonder if that's why they just try for quick depressurize-the-plane sorts of shit now instead of hijacking, what with some of the theories on the disappearing planes or the Underwear bomber and the like.
