What do you think about it?
>>
>>31005898
trash
>>
>>31005903
Whats a better choice?
>>
>>31005898
Recoil magazine liked it.

Seems interesting having a machined receiver versus the traditional stamped one
>>
>>31005911
WASR or Arsenal depending on your budget,
>>
>>31005903
So you say that just because you have access to all the old rusky models ?
>>
>>31005923
I don't really have access to any Russian ones but I do have a lot of Romanian and Yugo rifles in europe.
>>
Why is everyone so obsessed with milled receiver AK's these days?
>>
>>31005944
Because they're hefty and feel like a tank.

Gold standard Fair price = alright gun
>>
>>31005914
Aren't gun magazines notorious for liking everything?
>>
Keep an eye on the PSAK gen 2. Rob ski is currently doing a 5k torture test on it. New billet front trunion and bcg. I am optimistic for it after seeing the first 1k rounds.
>>
>>31005944
AK market is complete shit at the moment and there's like three models that are readily available, one of them being the C39. Also the only reason those shitty AMD frankensteins from Classicarms are even brought up.
>>
I have one op it's pretty sweet
>>
>>31006994
They cherry picked him a rifle after they recognized his name though.
>>
>>31005903
Of course the sandnigger is the expert on AKs
>>
>>31006961

Yes. The R51 debacle was an excellent indication of that.

>>31005914

It has a milled reciever for the same reason the original AK-47 has a milled reciever. While the per-unit cost is higher, the machinery required to make milled receivers is less expensive and they aren't making them in the quantities that old soviet factories made them, meaning they can't disperse the cost of getting the necessary presses over 100,000 units like the commies could (nevermind the fact that the commies weren't bound by profitability, they cranked out all the rifles they could and made up for the losses by not producing consumer goods for their people)
>>
>>31007050
Yeah, I didn't like that at all. But since the only thing that would weed out is QC issues as opposed to just manufacturing a bad product, I don't dwell too badly on it since their QC is pretty on point.
>>
Thoughts on Hungarian feg amd's?
>>
>>31007097
R51 looked cool, and I could imagine loving it if I got a working sample gun. Problem was, so few worked when serial production started, even the coolest gun would get discontinued with that kind of failure rate.
>>
>>31007160
Have a good reputation. Personally, I've never fired one but I have held one and it is the lightest AK I've ever felt. Surprised the hell out of me.

Also you can put normal furniture on them with a bit of tweaking.

Are there any decently priced AKs with chromed barrels that are available?

I'm planning on buying an AK soon (bought a few of those croatian mags that popped up a few places online, want to buy one before the election) and that doesn't seem like a common feature.
>>
>>31007870
>Are there any decently priced AKs with chromed barrels that are available?
Chromed barrels are irrelevant in the continental us
>>
>>31007883
Are they not harder than regular steel barrels? I'm planning to buy this for the long haul. I'm now living under the assumption Hillary is going to win and institute another """assault weapons""" ban but with no sunset period, and I like to shoot alot. Enough that I'm considering buying another barrel for my AR now so I don't have to worry so much about wearing it out.
>>
>>31005920
You can't get either of those new anymore
>>
>>31007220
>>31007240
Is that the one from classic?
>>
>>31007918
>Are they not harder than regular steel barrels?
They are, but don't tell the kiddies that things like improved barrel life and easier cleaning are nice things to have.
>>
>>31008095
My AR has a chromed barrel and it's easy as shit to clean, even with the dirty-ass ammo I run through it, hence me wanting an AK with one. So I'm with you there.

My question is what is a good AK with one at a decent price. I /could/ swing the $1000+ to buy one, I just don't know if I'd be wasting my money because of diminishing returns. I really don't know shit about AKs, and I don't want to make a totally uninformed panic buy and end up with a $600 piece of shit when an extra 300 or so would give me a really nice one. I work a good job and have no gf so it's doable as much as I'm a cheap bastard. I'm not OP, but I'm looking at buying the same rifle. The C39v2 doesn't look bad, and it's in stock.
>>
>>31007998
yep got it for $500
>>
>>31010016
Fuck bro so really theres nothing that can be put on the top to cover the naked gas tube?
>>
>>31010235
Yeah, but then it won't look like an AMD 65. People would mistake it for the AMD 63

Get a High Standard. They got talked about a bit more on here for like a week but they're looked over a lot. Mines great. They're the new WASR imo, especially now that they're making black ones and not just gray parkerized ones.
>>
>>31010235
You can get normal gas tube if you want to cover it. They run like ~$40
>>
>>31010288
I'll look into those, thanks. They don't seem to be in stock anywhere though.

It doesn't look like an AMD 65 to begin with.

Last I looked they were in at Atlantic. They may have run out since I last looked.
Also ask your LGS if they can order them. That's how I got mine, my LGS ordered it straight from Interarms.
>>
>>31010485
Yeah they're out at Atlantic. The gun store ive used as an ffl in the past makes custom aks so maybe I'll try that place too, his prices don't seem out of line with what I'm seeing online, unless they've gone up since the last time I was there.

I have this one and I love it. Couldn't be happier. A milled receiver is supposed to be better quality but I don't imagine how.
