Use a fucking hammer.
>>31005844
How? New to guns and I dont have a manual
>>31005868
>he bought an sks with an aftermarket stock already on it
You deserve your suffering OP
>>31005893
Yeah probably. I bought it around the time of orlando because I was low on cash and wanted a gun.
>>31005835
>put it back on and try again
>If it cannot go back on feel it up
>If it feels like it would break or feels like it is caught when taking it off then put it back on or force it back on by hitting it with a fucking hammer
>If it feels stuck on something or like something would break if you forced it back on, but not when you push it off, hit that fucker with a hammer
>If it is stuck in place and feels stuck in both directions then lube up and wiggle it around then try steps 3 and 4 again
>If none of that works you have nothing to loose so hit that fucker with an hammer anyway, SKS parts are cheap it doesn't matter.
Or pry. Always TRY TO PRY

is the retaining pin stuck on the dust cover? try jiggling and pull it out more
dust cover is basically held in by that pin going through a hole inside of it. it should slide loose easily once the retaining pin is out
That shit stock needs to come off first you fucking chump.
what stock is on that? it looks horrible.
Make sure the pin is as far out as you can get it, twist it to make sure, its got a little knob on it. Then push the cover forward and pull up. If that doesn't work take it to a shop and have then get that damn stock off, whoever put it on was a fucking dumbass, and then buy a real SKS stock.

This. The recoil spring is pushing it back. On a normal sks that dust cover shoots straight back like an inch when dissasembling.
To take the stock off you'll like have to take the trigger group off. The biggest PITA of sks takedowns...
>>31005948
Fuck if I know. Its looks shittier in person. It came with it.
You can either jimmy it open with a non-marring tool, or use a hammer and a piece of wood to force it off. SKS aint afraid of hammers.

fug i didn't even realize that stock has piece behind the dust cover/butt of the action. what the fuck, why did they design it like that
normally the dust cover shoots back a little soon as the retaining pin comes loose, like >>31005963 said, and you'd just pull it the rest of the way back to remove.. but in this case, the stock is blocking the dust cover from moving backwards.
>>31005971
step 1: go online and buy a better stock
step 2: replace stock
step 3: remove dust cover
>>31006015
Unfortunately not
>>31006003
How do I remove the trigger group? Will provide more pics if needed just incase the shit stock is covering something else.
>>31005835
It's definitely the stock. If you can, remove the trigger assembly by knocking the little nub behind the trigger toward the trigger. If there isn't a mag in, it should come apart. That is if you can reach the nub through that abomination of a stock.
If not, figure out what kind of stock you have and look up an installation video of it, then you should be able to figure it out.
You may also be able to remove your dust cover by pushing the recoil spring down with a thin tool like an alan key, but it'd be really tricky to reassemble it without taking the stock off.
I would go shopping for another stock bro. If you cannot disassemble it for cleaning without completely removing the stock, than the design is absolute shit. I would tear my dick off if disassembly was that tough given the number of corrosives it put through mine.

its an old ati "dragunov" stock

If you paid less than $400 than I can understand
>>31005971
OP remove the stock and then take the firearm apart, clean it as much as you want.
reassemble the firearm and then place it back in the stock
>>31006071
It was $300. They had a nicer looking russian one with a wood stock but I only had enough for this. Its norinco in case anyone was wondering.
>>31006071
If he paid more than 400 hes full retard
Lol shart tier sks meme

I was typing when he posted that
>>31006051
there's a button behind the trigger guard
push on it hard with a screwdriver until it "pops", then remove
>>31006163
Where? This?
>>31005835
It looks a bit diffenet then my russian one, the dust cover go till end of the gun on mine, so you can just push the dustcover inward.
You can check if the pin is fully pulled out, at end it block a bit and you need to pull it a bit more.
Is it reloaded? If so pull the trigger to lower the pressure in the spring.
I got it disassembled and cleaned. I'll make sure to get rid of this shitty stock asap. Thanks /k/
>>31006253
ugh why is it so deep into the stock??? on a wood stock that would be flushed (aka level) or even past the wood stock ... much easier to access
>>31006763
don't throw it away sell it to some poor sob for $50
>>31006871
Fuck I guess I'll try
>>31006858
I dont know. It was a bitch to get out because of the angle.
