Yes, it's not the most modern pistol, it was designed some 80 years ago now. But it is still a pretty damn good handgun. Anything over 10 round is pretty good for mag capacity imo.

I've also shot service pistols. I would expect training pistols to be in worse shape than pistols given to deployed soldiers. I would also expect a new civilian model to be much better than either. Most of the jams I've experienced are magazine related anyway.

That's a myth. I own a Jericho 941 and a Mk III Hi-Power. The fire control functions differently, the linkless cam on the barrel is different, the BHP slide rides on the outside of the frame. They don't evem disassemble the same way. They're both hammer fired, Browning tilting barrel 9mm service pistols, and things like the grip angle and ergonomics of the CZ are influenced by the BHP, but the CZ-75 isn't an improved Hi-Power.

I just don't see the point in a full size 9mm with less than 16 rounds in a flush-fit mag. Now if FN was to make a Hi-Power in 10mm with 12-13rd mags, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat, but I can't justify spending money on the 9mm version when I already have a .45 1911 (muh Moses Browning) and a CZ-75 (muh wundurnine). I will say though, the BHP definitely has a special kinda classy to it.
