Should I get Alice stuff
Or
Smersh stuff from SSO
Smersh allows you to carry more, if you go Russian go RATNIK though
>>30998587
Where'd you get teh RATNIK digital flora?
>>30998609
Ebay, ruforyou, Russianthunder, there's a lot of places to get it pretty easily. Just make sure you get Technikom and not Betaprom, I made that mistake and am in the middle of swapping my 112 for a 116
>>30998647
I'll keep that in mind, thanks.
>>30998571
Full ALICE rig: less than $20
Just the Smersh LBE: over $100
>>30998679
I have maybe $60 invested in this not counting mags, rounds the pistol or the knife. Cheap and no frills just how I like my women.
>>30998777
Take electrical tape and wrap it thickly around the metal hooks. It will ensure they don't rattle and open, and if you ever do a ruck with this, it will ensure your back is not scraped up by them (personal experience).
How about this Israeli combat harness?
Yes.
>>30998571
Lemmie just be real with you.
ALICE is fucking trash.
Smersh is pretty nice. A couple of guys use them at airsoft in the UK, and they love them. I'm doing an FSB loadout, so I'll get one, and use one when my tour in the UK ends and I can go back to the States.
>>30998844
Explain why
>>30998820
Thanks man, will do
>>30998832
May as well buy repro US WW2 stuff
>>30998571
Get South African kit

What's different about the 112 and 116? Was considering getting that kind of vest from special russian shop since they want 150 and most others want 200 or more, but theirs is 112.
Is it a quality upgrade, better molle or just a couple extra pouches?
>>30999163
The only change is the base vest, not the pouches, but there's supposed to be a better belt and better molle placement from what I understand. I did honestly like my 112 but considering I made profit selling it and am buying the 116 cheaper than my 112 I have no reason to. You'll enjoy it if you buy it
my suggestion is an eagle industries usmc warbelt with suspenders. its a lot more comfortable than an alice belt, and molle pouches are easier to come by these days. although tactical tailor makes a triple stack pouch, id do 3 double stacks, but just 2 if you're rocking a sidearm. gotta cut the weight some where. ifak at 6 o clock, tear away variety like tyr tactical.
if you need more than 4 or 6 rounds of ammo, add a chest rigs, chincoms being best poorfag option.

kys
ALICE is great. If I could have had an ALICE ruck and an ALICE LBV with all the gear I had when I was in, I would have taken that over MOLLE any day of the week.
Again, kys
OP, go with ALICE. Its going to be easier to find and cheaper than Russian stuff. Don't get my wrong, Russian gear is great, but save your money and get an ALICE LBV
>>30999206
>4 or 6 rounds of ammo
Yeah I'll probably need more than that.
>>30998873
>Smersh
Why do they have the stuff on the straps, and not across the chest?
>>30998571
Smersh is great for ammo and little assorted bits and bobs you can store in the pouches and flare holders, the 6ssh116 or whatever is a bit better, but the smersh is so comfy, and sits in a nice position. I have a brand new smersh from SSO and i really like it.
>>30999234
>not being mlg 360 no scope blaze ops and ony carrying 6 shots to give the noibs a fighting chance.
sorry, meant magazines. alice is cool and everything, but no dump pouches or proper ifak. the former i can deal with, the latter i cant live (might not live i should say) without. its also heavy. Smersh and the sadf rigs are nice, but rip riding in vehicles. wearing a molle belt rig without triple stack mag pouches and 2 giant canteens on each side's going to cut down on a lot of bulk
for water, i recommend a 3L water bladder in your pack (source ftw) and a nalgene bottle, or any bottle that'll fit in a usgi canteen pouch other than a usgi canteen. they taste like shit.
>>30999291
I was recommended this, so I bought it as well as another hydration carrier and the buttpack.

>>30999333
thats fine, nice trips btw.
just dont over load it. honestly if you want a pistol too, id put it on a drop leg attached to your pants belt, provided it's sturdy enough. you really want to minimize weight on belt rigs to stop the bouncing.
>>30999511
Nice dubs.
19 right now so I can't get one yet but eventually I will. I'm gonna buy probably 2-3 ammo pouches from Strike Hard Gear for my SKS. I already have their butt pouch so that brings me to 110-150 rounds of ammo.
>>30999550
no pistol = more primary ammo
i started gear queering when i was 19. my advice? dont throw to much money into it. stopping bullets and carrying shit doesnt have to bankrupt you. spending more might get you lighter, and more comfortable, but there comes a point you're chasing minor improvements for major cash. its something i caught myself doing and why ive just cut off my gear purchases, and decide to just use what i got
>>30999259
To keep things nice and breezy, belt rigs work well in hot climates like SA and Aus. Chest rigs can be like ovens.
>>30999736
>dont throw to much money into it.
The SKS pouches are $20 a pop, and since I already have my buttpouch, do you think I could buy 2 for now and see how I do? That's 30 in the pouch, 10 in the gun, and 80 in the pouches, so 120 rounds max. I guess it's a subjective thing but I'm looking for some input.
>>30998571
Isn't Smerh just alice with molle? Also why this instead of chest rig? chest rig always seemed more comfy and streamlined.
>>31001253
SMERSH doesn't use MOLLE unless you buy the specific MOLLE version
A SMERSH or Alice rig is gonna carry a hell of a lot more magazines than a chest rig ever could and do it more comfortably
