I personally think that tucking into the boots looks better, but boot blousers work better in the field (for me) because you really don't have to worry about shit getting untucked.

Fuck tucking your pants into the tops of your boots. You get too much material inbetween your boots and your legs and it cuts off circulation to your feet and feels like shit when you go on long marches. Swede here. Never tucked, mainly because m90 pants have an elastic band sewn into the end of the legs, with the lower part of the pants made out of some waterproof type of textile. Also has a clasp to affix the pants to the boot laces to prevent it from sliding up.

Also, were not allowed to do anything else unless in the field.

Tucked gets you shit into the top of your boots.

Tie them off around your boots with enough slack that you'll never tug them off. That is the absolute best way and any good pants, outdoor or military will have ties on the bottom.
