Yes. Most of the Civil War for Texas was basically just fighting Indians. Most of the territory between us and the Union was both part of the Confederacy and largely made up of frontier territory so nobody really bothered.

The Civil War in general is not really a big thing to us here. I've lived in the sticks for most of my life and haven't seen many people with rebel flags or talking about 'muh confederacy, m-muh antebellum'. In school we spend way more time learning about our successful war with Mexico than losing a war over problems as far from us as Russia is from Spain.
