What do you do to an AR if the bolt carrier freezes shut? If the charging handle is on the side, you can kickstart it. It's like you don't even want to operate in -40 celsius.

The furniture is plastic. The receiver is aluminum.
Collapse the stock all the way, or have a fixed length stock, and you can mortar that fucker all day.
If anything's going to break, it'll be the charging handle.
