Armor on the engine and over the cab, maybe some cage armor for RPG's over the lower sides.

Turn the bed into a troop compartment/pillbox with firing ports in the sides and a roof and even floor (unless you want every neckbeard sliding to the front).

Also a fixed AA gun on top, and some sort of trireme ram on the front.

The bucket is designed to carry weight, so we remove the bucket, remove the mechanism for dumping, and basically make the space FOR the bucket a place for modular compartments.

Want a mobile command center? Boom, mount that shit. Or make one for carrying troops or other equipment, or make one mounting a Naval Gun turret, or a giant ass missile rack, or some cruise missiles or something. Either way you've got a lot of space and a lot of weight capacity to work with. Of course it would need to be made more armored, and lots of anti-air is a must because this thing will be a bomb magnet.

Weld a bunch of steel plating on it for armor, replace the rear dumper part with a cargo hold or place to transport troops.

Put armor plate or armored glass over the railing, put a gate to lock over the stairs, put a huge fender/plow blade on the front for ramming through barricades and rubble, and for destroying vehicles.
Put machineguns or napalm jet flamers on pintle mounts and let some fuckers in EOD suits man them (give them tethers so they can stay on in case of a violent collision). Give them grenades and molotovs to use as necessary, as well as 16" pump shotguns or subguns to clear off faggots who try to board your highway death juggernaut.

If any of this shit gets in the way of the driver's vision, give him a remote camera feed, with backup cameras, as well as a rear feed.

Put a huge artillery piece or two on the back, something that can bombard for miles (two guns can play off each other, taking turns firing and loading), then of course put some AA guns on it, like M2 Browning quad mounts, or maybe a GAU-19 (I think that's the three barreled .50BMG Gatling, isn't it?), maybe put some T.O.Ws on the back to deal with possible enemy armor, crew would need some S.A.M launchers too, Stingers, for further AA.
