I've used 9mm against moose (but not squirrel.) One shot might not do it, but when you magdump on them, they tend to run, die, or both.

A hard cast bullet out of a weak handgun caliber can kill a large bear with proper shot placement. But not until a minute or so has passed and they have already ripped your face off.

Watch videos of brown bears getting shot in the heart with a fucking .30 cal magnum rifle caliber and still getting pissed and running off to die minutes later.

Just get bear spray. Unless you have a 40mm grenade launcher, a fully automatic rifle in 7.62, or are some sort of cowboy action shooter, your wont be able to shoot and kill a charging bear. Plus the feds love fining bitches for shooting bears out of season.

if 9mm at all, it would have to be something special that I don't know about. And I don't claim to know everything so it could possibly exist. I don't really see having 2 guns to piss him off faster working. I just don't see it working in general.

Bear spray plus gun is probably the least I would want.

I have a bears where I live in the middle of nowhere, and have come in contact with them several times. Sometimes on a daily basis. I have yet to have the need to kill one, just evade and stay the out of their way. Usually a warning shot scares most off. They don't WANT to rip your face off, they just can't help it. It's just a reaction to seeing someone so retarded to wear a tux and dual wield 9mms in a forest. ..That being said I don't want to have to take it's life, but I'd rather it be it than me.
