All right glass snobs, what's the clearest and most beautiful optic you have put your twinkling eyeball up to?
Aside from being clear and having high light transmission, good eye relief and a large eyebox are strong considerations. The best glass in the world can still be of limited use if the eyebox is too small or it has poor eye relief.
fire away
Iron sights, pussy faggot.
Also warranty/support. Good glass usually is backed by good warranty.
I buy Vortex because their support is second to none, but i have not had the pleasure of dealing with S&B or Nightforce yet for a quality issue so i don't know what their customer service is like.
I also have several FN firearms and while they make a good gun, their customer service is really sparse. As in nobody ever answers the phone or emails.
So a $3000 piece of equipment is now crippled and you are not sure if it will get fixed type of deal.
I have used night force and Schmidt and bender scopes. The s&b is worth the money, just awesome piece of kit.
I had to send my nf back but being in England it had to go back to merica.
I haven't had any issues with s&b.

S&B has office in USA.

S&B is king for good reasons. NF, Vortex, Leupold are all good.
If you want German glass, Swarovski and Khales are good.

at my local redacted two letter word they have a plastic m16 with a leupold you can pick up and look through and dumb that sight picture is clear

More important than clarity or light transmission is contrast I think. That's what makes the 4k scopes cost 4k in glass. Chromatic aberration really fucks up your ability to see long range.

LRAS
TruGlow has worked well enough for me. Pic Related.

But it's the absolute cheapest I would go. Even though I'm a poorfag. Solid 6/10.
