if it's a service rifle, peq boxes, weapon lights, slings, grenade launchers, and foregrips are all very nice things to have. I don't like foregrips, and I would always prefer to shoot and carry a m320 standalone with a stock, but some soldiers don't get that option or like those things. and I need a damn top rail for my peq box.

Because fucking sudden flashes of light, or going into rooms with light will fucking blind you if you're wearing NV or IR dipshit. That's why fucking IR laser/flashlight combos exist. Especially for situations with moderate light. Having to put on and take off your fucking goggles every time you enter a hallway, go inside to outside, or any number of other situations, would be fucking horrendous. IR lasers exist because it makes target acquisition easier, and in fire teams, can covertly let you point out targets if you're with others who have their own shit that sees inferred lasers.

Sights? I don't know, probably a solid mounted Front sight that is mounted to the handguard which should line up with the rear and lock into the upper receiver itself, kind of how free float uppers are being made now. Gas block wise, KAC has it fixed, fucking put a threaded portion on the gas port, then screw on the gas block itself. It makes installation idiot proof, creates a complete seal and if you wanted to take it all the way, fucking torque it and use screws to lock it in place. Like what KAC does.

Its minor changes that vastly changes how the rifle performs.

Jim Sullivan has continued to work the platform and has made fascinating changes, such as lowering the ROF which increased reliability with the carbine gas system as well as a slightly longer rifle life. He achieved this by increasing the bolt carrier weight primarily.

For all intents and purposes, this is fine, but I'd put on a left hand charging handle ala FAL style while keeping a dust cover, a collapsible stock because 75% of all soldiers primarially bitching about the shitty A2 stocks being absurdly uncomfortable in body armor probably means some changes need to be made, then throw on a mounted solid front sight post with the other small mechanical design choices.
