God damn, his hand is right the fuck up on that blade, isn't it? Seems less than ideal considering the nature of the weapon.

Serious question: how do I find a pro-2ndA/redpilled woman to court and possibly breed with? I've tried school, plentyoffish, and okcupid but I can't find any who match my philosophy and aren't 500 lbs.

We seem to embrace wage slavery as the norm in this country, so it's no different.

Also

No he's a sparthafag not a thebesfag.

Sparta is all about abusing the fuck out of helots and raising kids to be psychopathic, puppy-kicking dickwads
>>
>>30981348
I really hope you're joking. Or a massive fan of fucking little boys in the ass and getting shrekt by other homos.

The helots were the slaves, and there were bum bandits everywhere in ancient greece

That is a good one.

I sometimes wish I was Herodotus, just so I could spend all day sitting around, coming up with dramatic lines for the characters in my stories to say. Being a real historian sucks, there's so much fucking paperwork and no ant-people anywhere.
>>
>>30981419
>failed to disarm 300 Spartans

Other than the general failure of historical knowledge in that image, that conclusion is inaccurate. Inside of a week, the Persians had stacked every Spartan spear and every Spartan shield by the side of the road so they could march past to burn Greece. Cold dead hands hold no arms.

Herodotus was an onjective writer though. He wrote down EVERYTHING, even fantastic bullshit, even contradicting versions, even propaganda, even commoner gossip. He always contrasted everything in his works and included the context and social aspect of the people he described.

Other writers:
>Yeah right that's bullshit

Herodotus:

That's not being objective, that's being gullible. You had Athenians in his own time calling him out for repeating obvious fictions about their city, because he was more interested in what fit into his own narrative structure about the hubris of kings and natural order than he was in accuracy.

>contrasted everything in his works and included the context and social aspect

Bull. Fucking. Shit. Herodotus wrote very well, and we're indebted to him for giving colour to a time that would otherwise be almost invisible to us, but he did not provide anything like context or contrast. Any time we can get context (like in Egypt or Athens) it invariably proves that Herodotus didn't know shit. When he hears multiple stories, he doesn't bother to give us the context of from whom he heard them, he just says, "Not up to me to actually find out which is correct, here's both." His 'social aspect of the people he described' is literally just Herodotus ascribing motives and intentions to people with zero ability to actually know what they were really thinking. We use Herodotus because there's nothing else, not because of any value in his Histories.

Fun fact: The man who the British hanged as a spy in the American Revolution did not say that at all, one of his friends and long time colleagues wrote it down and used it as propaganda because he knew the man was an avid student of Cato, who wrote the quote originally.

According to a British officer's journal, he said something along the lines of "I hold no malice for you gentlemen, as you are simply doing your duty as I did mine," which it much less climactic, admittedly. The officer noted that he was also a perfect gentleman, and whoever sent him to be a spy had wasted what he called, "a young man with excellent leadership potential."

Just a neat little tidbit it read a while back. Washington's Spies by Alexander Rose, I believe. A little plodding to read through as opposed to someone like Ambrose, but fantastic and meticulously researched. It reads a bit like doctorate research paper honestly.
