There's literally only 2 people on /k/ who play music. Talk about a 1 dimensional crowd.
Fuck yes a thread that is relevent to my interests.
From left to right
>Fender American Stratocaster with Seymour Duncan P rail
>Ibanes RG471 (great fucking guitar for the money)
>Ruger American Ranch in 5.56 with primary arms microdot (i know I'll get a better optic when I get more guns but fuck it it works at short/medium range which is what I use it for)
>LTD EC-1000 Goldburst with Duncan JB/Jazz combo
>Some old 80s Custom ESP neck thru hair metal machine I got as a gift and slapped a Duncan Invader in the bridge.
I need more guns. I've been a guitar player for 10 years, a gun owner for 2 weeks.
>>30977029
welcome to the gun club. nice guitars m8.
>>30976732
I have that same guitar. The white Ibanez. RG2EX2 right?
>>30977029
>Duncan JB/Jazz
How do you like them? I was thinking about getting one in the neck position on my Epiphone les paul and a alnico 2 pro on the treble.
Also, I couldnt agree more with the RG. they are fantastic guitars. My white one has a better feel than my Gibson, and it cost 1/3rd the price. The pickups are a bit too metally for my taste, but the guitar plays great.
>>30977143
They will bring your epi to another level (epi stock pickups sound like ass) They are a tad trebley for me (especially since my LTD has an ebony board) and I might get one of those new custom '59s that have more gain than a regular '59 but less gain than a JB, but overall I like the setup. The Jazz is what it sounds like, when you want to go clean, you switch onto that thing and get some sweet jangly tones.
As for the RG, I'm not gonna lie it doesn't sound great. I think all Ibanezes sound nasaly and shitty if you ask me, but it's super reliable and plays like a fucking dream. Whenever I'm on tour and we are winding down and my fingers are tired as fuck I play it non-stop because it's so easy to play. I'll nail solos on it without missing a fucking note. The neck is just so fucking fast and it stays in tune better than any of my guitars (including the ones twice the price)
>>30977211
>(epi stock pickups sound like ass)
not mine, that epi is a 1989, made in USA guitar. It is almost as good as my gibson.
As for the RG, I think its just those shitty EMGs on mine. They are so ridiculous. At the same time I think I may put something hot in it just to have 'that' guitar. I generally reach for one of my LPs when I play, and only really use the RG when I'm playing a metal song.
>>30976732
All I could fit in my car when I moved out of my parents'. I really miss the rest of my collection, especially my K31 and PTR 32.
Guitars are an Epiphone LP and a Warmoth custom short scale jazz bass that is my heart and soul. I'miss considering building a PJ and using it as a piccolo. I'don't also like to get some distortion and fuzz pedals as well as something like the Ehx HOG 2.

I stand corrected in my shortsightedness. Eh, it gives me something to look forward to when I go home for the holidays.
>>30976732
Way to lazy to snap pics, need to do so soon. I have 7 Martin and 2 other Acoustics, a strat, a tele, a Les Paul and a mandolin. I also have 5 ARs, 2 other rifles, 3 shotguns, 6 pistols and one revolver. Im Good on guitars now, but could use some more guns.
Who here drums?
The closest to machine guns I'll get are my double bass drum beats :(
>>30977349
Why do you have 2 delay pedals?
>>30978095
My thought process was "well, if one pedal sounds great, wouldn't two be better?"
I like messing around with different pedal combinations and creating walls of sound and different textures. The first time I heard a shoegaze band was like someone had found nirvana filtered through a sonic paradise of fuzz and reverb.
Here are my 3 ibanezes I currently own. Sold a few rg7620s and kinda regret not keeping one at the very least.
Can't believe I stumbled upon this thread. Right on.
Current pic of all the SGs. Far left Epi was supposed to be a parts guitar, but didn't have the heart to just scavenge the bridge off it. Other Epi is an '84 that was made in the old Gibson factory. I like that it's got the Gibson headstock and everything. No guns in this pic though.
h-hey, I like guns and guitars, I'd like to ask, anyone here recomend a tube amp? I want that rock and roll tone and my line6 sucks. I want to be able to do ultra bright cleans like the ballad of curtis leowe, and metal sounds like dethklok, and the in between sounds as well, like cream, the stones, and all the others.
inb4 marshall DSL, heard they have quality issues, and I'd prefer it have a standby switch, but is that really of any importance?
Ayy
I should take one with my shotgun and bass desu I am more of a bassist and as much as I love my Cooey it doesn't gain me much street cred
>>30976841
Is that an old T-72 Peavey?
Guitars are for normies.
>>30976732
Here's an Esp Ax 260. I bought a Sunburst Standard Strat since taking that picture.
>>30976732
This thread is very relative to my interests. On the left is a late 80s/early 90s class axe era NJ series warlock and on the right is a mid 80s NJ series warlock. In the center is my aero/anderson AR.
Yo, why not both?
>>30979916
T-40
>>30979721
Fender Blues Junior. Its 15A, (dont underestimate it, 15A tube is TOTALLY different than 15A solidstate).. It gives a great cleans like ballad of cl, can do the stones, cream, etc. You can get the metal sound through a mixture of distortion and compressor pedals. Its one of the best parts of the BJ. It can take pedals very well.
I've been thinking of getting a really cheap used acoustic guitar. I want to learn how to play for the lulz and to train my fingers. My hands and fingers are kind of fucked up from years of martial arts and woodcrafting. I want to train my fingers to preserve some tactile sense and flexibility.
The thing is I am pretty tone deaf and don't know where to begin. Being a poorfag I gotta buy a really cheap shitty guitar or ukulele. I don't care about the purity of the sound that much, I just want to play for my own enjoyment.
Tips? I have never played an isntrument and I can't read notes.
>>30981901
First, acoustics are much harder to play than electric. Second, cheap guitars are also harder to play.
It may not be what you want looking at it, but try an ovation. the round backed, plastic ones. They play great, and are still an acoustic; while being cheap.

Someone on /k/ has taste (and a flying V)?
Huh.
I'd post my stuff, but I'm in the shitter at work.
>>30981901
See if you can find a Seagull or something, they seem like they're pretty aight for the lower priced stuff.
>>30982029
Also look on craigslist for a takamine. They play pretty well (ask garth brooks), and you can get a low end model used for 100.

god thats a nice bass. also how thick is the neck?
>>30985136
Hot damn, man ive always wanted a National. Arent they like 20 lbs? Im assuming you play slide.
I've owned guitars for more than half my life and I can't play worth shit aside from a few classic songs I learned a decade ago.
Tried to learn with rocksmith, and it actually did help a bit since I already know the basics. Although it doesn't work well with my new external soundcard, so I've not used it since forever.
I don't have a good camera, but my only working guitar right now is an old aria I got as a birthday present 16 years ago.
some of my shit
>tfw you have a shitty chinese epiphone LP sitting in the corner of your room
>tfw you keep telling yourself to play it but you keep blowing it off because you think it'll be too difficult

Sorry m8, learning guitar will only cause you to lose more feeling in your fingers because of new callouses
>>30988379
You obviously haven't listened to the new album. Still doesn't excuse you for having shit technique and no drive to practice.
Listen to CHON then, literally polyphia's equivalent but with more SOUL than TECHNIQUE
>implying you can effectively play soulfully without being versed technically
>Being this shitty of a musician
Come on man I just wanted a chill convo
>>30986689
Neck is 1 1/2 inches at the nut. It feels like a jazz neck shrunk down. The fret wire (I think. I'm not sure I remember) is 6230 and the fretboard is ebony, with maple for the rest of the neck. The body is alder, with Seymour Duncan classic stacks. And thanks! I absolutely love it. When I first played in the upper register, it sounded like bells to me. It's everything I wanted in a bass.
>>30988362
I was just making noise so I figured I might as well go with it.
>>30976732
Sorry I'm late boys. Got a few from the collection right here
>>30990136
This djentastic 7 string
>>30976732
Diversify your spending. You should stop spending money on overpriced weapons and shit guitars. You should be using a Telecaster if you're serious about hobby or lounge playing on a quality guitar. Come on senpai. Step it up.
>>30976841
Strat my nigga.
Is it an American standard?
>>30990146
And this elegant beauty
>>30979035
Awesome collection man!
If you don't mind me asking about how much do you make in a year? Your guitars and rifles suggest a decent salary
>>30988353
I played four shows with them back to back when they came through Texas. They were awesome dudes. Clay was probably one of the coolest niggas I had ever met, though I honestly couldn't stand the rest of the band. I had a much better time on my other Texas run with Myka Relocate.
>>30988379
Fuck you, you've obviously never seen them live. Just because it's not atempotic playing with excess tremolo or trill doesn't make it soulless.
>>30990174
Did you not see his les paul? I'm a fender fan as well man but gibson's are top fucking notch as well
>>30990228
I can't say that Gibson is good for anything other than live playing, mate. Otherwise the Telecaster is the greatest guitar platform ever designed. Thick neck, good body shape, removes an extra fret and usually reliable bridge makes me honestly believe it's the FAL of guitars. I would lump the Gibson into the AR platforms. Expensive, performs perfect in certain situations with certain tools.
>>30979017
I used to have that same guitar. I really regret selling it. It was great.
>>30990254
I like the 22nd fret. that's why in addition to the strat I bought a chapman ML1, it has a thinner neck, and a damn good one at that, not QUITE the right shape like a strat, and the hot rod variant I got is van halen as fuck if that's what you're into...anyone know an easy way to learn to read music? but other than missing the 22nd fret, which they used to have, they're great, and they come in all the variations you might want for that clean tone to the heavy metal tone, though sadly only two variants come with a floyd rose. though I will say I love the FAL too.
Not the best photo but it's all I've got.
I wish I still had most of my guitars. I sold most of them. All I got left.
>>30976732

>>30993037
You seem pretty cool, though. Stick around
>>30988199
Just force yourself to play even if you don't want to, start with warmups and songs you like. Next thing you know you're going to end up jamming for a while, and it will eventually become a habit
Or >>30988282 seems acceptable even tho I never tried it
God bless America, guns, and rock n roll, senpai

rocksmith works ok if you already know how to play a little bit.
Actual lessons sort of suck. Learning specific song is a bit obtuse for some, but it works, sortta. The game wants to teach you by gradual playing simple notes and skip the complex ones, gradually ramping up the dificulty. I think that way is learning is sort of dumb though, and your better off learning by just slowing the song down and learn each section at a time. The mini games are ok I guess, I've not really gotten into that. Sessions mode is actually pretty decent.
It's not perfect, you still have to learn on your own outside of it, but it's a fun method IMO, provided it has music that you like. There is custom DLC, so most of the popular and mainstream music is available. Some of the custom DLC lack some features though, or some are just straight up inaccurate. Personally don't care about the easymodo notes that official tracks have, but cdlc should at the very least have sections so it's easy to repeat what you want to learn.
Here's an example of cdlc, with weeaboo music. This particular track isn't that great becuase it mixes rhythm and lead, making it it more of a game track than a learning track.
