When I was 21 about 8 years ago I got charged with possession of an imitation firearm in nj. It was a pellet gun.
I did Pre Trial Intervention and the case was dismissed.
Here in FL I passed a level 2 background check for my job and also a background check for my handgun.
This is what the tracker says now:
We have completed our initial review of your application. The background check results we received from law enforcement authorities were inconclusive, and we are attempting to verify your criminal history. You should be aware that by law the division has 90 days from the date on which we receive a complete application either to issue a license or to deny the application. Because your background check results were inconclusive, the 90-day clock has been suspended in accordance with the law while we continue to research this matter and will be lifted when we confirm the disposition does not affect your eligibility for licensure.
So am I fucked K? No conviction but does that matter? Please advise.

Florida lawyer here. You got PTI...you'll get a CCW. PTI is a non-conviction. You're good. If you have a problem, call an attorney in your area. We can fix it, seriously. Problems of this kind are merely bureaucratic.

Yes it was a felony charge second degree. I plead not guilty and they dropped it through PTI.

You will probably have to deal with the ATF and send them copies of the paperwork which proves it you do not have a felony on your record.

Well in that case, refer to what the lawyer said above. I've seen people denied on 4473s because they've had reduced charges still flagging them but yer prolly all good yo. The offices that issue CCWs are always backed up.
