Alright /k/ besides all your guns etc what do you do to protect your home from burglars primarily when you're not home
>>
I live in a safe neighborhood in a third floor walkup. Locking my doors and windows suffices.

With today's technology, you can have motion sensors and cameras aimed at all doorways into the home. They can alert to your smartphone when there is motion, and you can look at the live feed of the camera to see if someone is breaking in. If so, call 911 immediately.

Also, get awesome double locks on all doors that can NOT be unlocked from the inside. This prevents breaking the door window and reaching in to unlock.

Burglary is usually a crime of opportunity. If there is no easy way into your house, the thief will usually move on.

Z-home system with motion sensors and lots of cameras.

I would rather have a door with window that can't reach the lock, or a peephole. Those kinds of locks are fire safety issues
>>
I live in an apartment, so other than the front grill there's nothing else I could use to lock my house

I suppose you could go full retard; 10 feet wall with barbed wire and spike, several tibetan mastiff and german shepherd, motion sensors and CCTVs, and and door grill.

That's how a typical warlord house in afghanistan the last time I was there 2 years ago.

Nah. You can have the deadbolt be lockable from the inside and the knob lock only lockable from the outside with a key. When you are home, you only use the deadbolt. When you leave the house, you lock the deadbolt AND the door knob. No fire safety issue whatsoever.
>>
I have Rottweiler in my house, tempted to put in a double lock on my back door.

I rigged an Obrez to a tripwire, and aimed it at a block of tannerite and ball bearings in front of the door.

I put a "Now hiring" sign up,that seems to work amazing against blacks.

I live on the top floor of a building in a safe neighborhood. I have a reinforced plate at the doorknob and a deadbolt.

But if somebody tries to steal stuff from my place the dozen paranoid, racist old ladies that surround my unit will call the cops before they even enter the building. They're the best line of defense

Live in a nice neighbourhood and pic very related.

I have never heard of this and my brain can't processes it. Are you saying the knob is lockable from the outside with a key but not unlockable from the inside? Or are you saying that would be your procedure?

Now you are relying on all the people with keys to make sure they follow some convoluted process. Doors should be unlockable from inside with no keys. If there is a glass close enough where someone could reach in that glass needs to be impact resistant.
