i signed up for 1 year at a gun show last november, i got a free hat and a years supply of my choice of paperback magazine.

the hat is too small, and i haven't seen this months mag yet, and every 2 weeks they send me mail asking for more money, or to sell me collectors coins.

NRA and SAF. Opt out of any communications and just send them money. If you're a gun owner but not an NRA or SAF member, you have no fucking excuse. Go be a cuck somewhere else.

NRA is pretty gud. I've had a membership for about a year now. They offer decent services and mostly do things that I agree with, although I do wish they would push harder for a repeal of the GCA, NFA, etc. I can understand why it's difficult for them to bring up the matter, when it's hard enough just to hold onto what we've got already.

The main issue I've had with them lately is just how over the top they can be with some of the letters they send. I get mail from them about once a week, talking about how evil Clinton will be, and most of the letters look like they were written by a paranoid uncle that no one talks about that lives in a rusted out bunker in New Mexico. Lots of UPPERCASE TEXT! Lots of underlined and BOLD WORDS ABOUT OUR FREEDOMS. Constant requests for donations, even though I've already given this year.

I get that they need as much money as they can get to keep the cause strong, but it would be nice if I could get one or two letters from them without them asking for payment at the end of it.

The thing I'm looking forward to most for the rest of the year are all of the raffles they keep sending out. I know the chances of winning are probably pretty slim to none, but I like at least having a chance at some of the sweet gear they are constantly putting up.

Yeah, he's 110% right; it's just terrifying. I've always had a good experience with guns, ever since I was a little kid and learned how to shoot. To me, guns are going and hanging out with friends and family as we compete against each other in shooting matches. Yes they can be a little too strong when it comes to asking for donations......but so can a lot of other organizations...... Ever listen to a PBS fundraiser? And the NRA really does stand up and fight for us.

i did the exact same thing. this plan is so fucking cheap and easy that it's a no brainer to sign up. It makes your investment inflation proof and you stop worrying about renewing your membership, and saves the NRA money because they don't have to keep sending reminder letters to you to renew. Once you lock it in the NRA can then count on that money and invest in what they need to invest in to save our rights.
