In regards to a hand guard:

I had actually been thinking about the Geiselle already. I'm not a huge fan of the PRI, but it does complete that SPR look.

I've been trying to decide on a barrel. I figured a ballistic advantage 223 Wilde would be pretty good, but they're all staunless, which is great for accuracy, but crap for longevity. Should I just get a 5.56?

I had a similar decision when building mine. I went with a faxon gunner, 5.56, stainless, QPQ'd inside and out. I figure that will offset being stainless a bit.

Duly noted. It's mostly just be a range/coyote/other critter gun anyhow. I've got my carbine for HD/competition and my pistol for HD/VD. This would be an extra AR for distance/tight grouping.

Seems like having the rear up with any optic would be lowering your FOV for no reason. The front is pinned, so even though it'd be better to not have it there's nothing you can do about that. But I'd definitely recommend to remove the rear or replace it with a folding.

And if you get a scope you'll definitely need to remove or get folding.

whats the deal with stag arms? there stripped lower is $135 vs andersons $50, while thier completed version is only $209 versus and anderson for $260, the anderson has a hogue grip vs the cheapo plastic on stag's are the internals better on anderson, i thought it was all milspec

Depends on the magnification of the scope. If I flip the front up at 1x on my Strike Eagle I can see it, but at 6x I can't.
The white build is for my Dad who is a Star Wars fan. Most expensive birthday present I've ever got him (or anyone for that matter).

Magpul flipups are decent and around $100 for the regular MBUS. The MBUS Pro are super nice and around $150 for a set. Personally, I'd grab the pros. I've got both and it's a big difference.

I'm not actually sure. I'm not home today, so I couldn't really tell you. The front sight might not take a tritium insert though. It's adjustable without tools. Either way, irons for night time use suck some shit, in my opinion. Unless you're going to have a weapon light, they don't do a lot of good. I've gone night shooting before, and while it's nice to see your sights, you generally still can't see what you're aiming at unless it's illuminated. Using my operator with a light and might sights at night, I can tell a big difference vs my M&P with a light and no night sights, but either way, I need that illumination.

Google may hold your answer, though, hombre. You've got me curious now.

The music in my heart will always be metal, especially southern metal, eg Pantera and Corrosion of Conformity. I came up in the 80's, so I have a lot of the darker synth in me too, Depeche Mode, Sisters of Mercy and the like.

I listen to tons of Motown, not much for country, myself. I was born in a land of concrete and steel. But I love the mountain dulcimer. Go figure, right?

After some more work I've determined that the trigger works fine, it's the safety that's the problem. Even in fire position it's keeping the trigger from pulling forward far enough to fire every time.
