Normally I am not a fan of glocks for the aesthetics, but I think the storm is beyond hi-point tier ugly.

If you're gonna get a .40, both Glock and S&W (specifically M&P) are pretty good choices. There's other ones out there and probably better ones too but I don't have enough experience with Beretta to give you a decent answer about them.

The only major benefit that .40 has over 9mm is barrier penetration with FMJ, and the ability to be converted to .357 SIG in some models. That said, I have 3 .40 pistols and 2 10mm pistols and I usually recommend just getting a 10mm if you think you want a .40 but it's really up to you and your preference.
