Does anybody have any experience dealing with irunguns?
I noticed that they have some guns I was looking at for less, but I want to make sure they're 100% legit before placing an order.
The super blurry pictures and illegible description in particular make me hesitant, the fuck kind of retailer is this?
>>

Nah man.
>>

Thanks for making it, but maybe leave it to someone else next time.

Any one here have experience with leverarms and wolverine supplies? Also what are some good milsurp stores to order from online? I ask cause I can't really find any good ones and I live in a very small town with the closet city being 3 hours away
>>
>>30957854
Lever is good mail order. Heard they are dicks in person. Wolverine is one of the best dealers in Canada.
Trade-ex is pretty good and P&S is one of the best but he only deals in cheques or money order.

Vz 58 223 with AR mag adapter or T97 FTU?
>>
>>30958189
Type 97 ftu is my vote. Would be a harder choice if 7.62x39 vz58.
>>
>>30958417

Does the 7.62 have a mag adapter and mags bigger than 5 rounds?
>>
>>30958464
Yeah you can use the 5.56 adapter with a bit of work IIRC and there are adapters specifically for 7.62 rifles but they're a littler harder to find.

Also with 7.62 you are limited to 10 as the beo mags don't work well at all with the 7.62 taper. So get XCR-M pistol mags
>>
>>30958488

OK I'll keep that in mind.
>>
>>30957854
lever is ok, but you gotta pay by cheque, no emt, thats fuckin gay, they do get some good stock for fair price tho.
wolverine is absolutely fantastic to deal with, great guys, good price, fast shipping, great website, i have made about a dozen purchases from them, always a pleasure.
>>
>>30957877
no, tradex does emt. they are really good, but i don't really like their website. it seems like the guns they have are expensive and uninteresting, but the ammo is great.

I was so excited to get my first "tactical" rifle. I was going to put rails on it, get a red dot, maybe an AFG and a folding stock. Now that I've seen it and held it though... I don't know how to say this, but I think rifle might be fine.
>>
>>30959952
You should try a after market pistol grip they feel so much nicer then the one it comes with and it doesn't ruin to over all look of the rifle.
>>
>>30960039
The Fab Defense ones? If I put one of those on it'd probably tip me into doing the whole rifle. That said, the stock grip is kind of small and slippery.
>>
>>30960090

You can use the polymer CSA magwell adapter with XCR pistol mags in a 7.62x39 VZ58 without any modifications needed (aside from installing the new bolt catch and mag release that comes with the magwell).
>>
Hey guys. I am waiting for CRFSC results to return before mailing my PAL app in, but I'm worried I've been put on some sort of watchlist that will pop up for the RCMP. In the past seven years I've made posts on forums and boards opposing multiculturalism, muslim immigration, LGBT, feminism, and commented on blacks as a net drain on society, jewish influence and globalized financial institutions like IMF/ECB. Basically everything opposed to the political status quo in Canada.

Is there any chance I've been put on a list that will be flagged when my app goes to the RCMP? I have no criminal record or history of mental illness.
>>
>>30960477
I really doubt it will make any difference

something more comfy or tacticool?
any difference in sling consideration for the fixed vs folding stock version?

>>
>>30961673
Any 2 point sling works. Vickers and VTAC slings are popular here. I personally use a Spec Ops padded sling because it can switch to 1 point and is cheap on Amazon. The knockoff Magpul MS2 sling on Amazon is good too.

>>30959952
Forget any kind of foregrip and front rail. Foregrips are unnecessary unless you have a lot of shit on your front rail and can't grip it properly otherwise. They are also useful on short barreled rifles for quick maneuvering according to some, but I find that claim to be dubious. Foregrips, for the most part, add useless weight and can snag on objects when shooting from cover. I would also avoid front rails on the vz58 because the ones that actually hold zero make the gun nose heavy. Put an optic on top and it is even worse. You also can't put any magnified scopes on it due to the short length of the rail, limiting your optics choices to a small red dot sight.
My recommendation for vz58 customizations are a rear rail mounted to the receiver with an optic of your choice, an aftermarket grip if you want, a muzzle brake and a bayonet mounted flashlight. The rear mounted rail is preferred over dust cover rails because you don't have to remove it every time you want to clean the gun and it is cheaper. The bayonet mounted flashlight is kind of a compromise if you don't want to use a front rail because it is a little awkward to reach. However, I have used a quad rail on a vz before and I assure you that the weight and cost savings are worth it.

thanks, just wondering because single-point seems like it would be a little clownish, with the long-ass NR barrel smacking your shins
>>
>>30961894
Thanks for the advice, that actually really helps. I'll steer clear of adding weight to the front. My favorite customized VZ I've seen is this one and it uses a stock handguard. I'd like to emulate it but I was somewhat wary of adding a side rail to my receiver.
>>
>>30962062
Single points really aren't that useful anyway, outside of shotguns and quick switches to the weak hand

>>
>>30961894
Good advice, the only thing I would point out is that the flashlight mounts that go on the bayonet lug are usually $100 or more, which is more than I'm willing to pay. If you have seen any for less, let me know.
>>
>>30962103
Side mounted rails are the sturdiest. Optics designed for Russian weapons can fit on the mounting hardware of the vz58 so that is nice too. Just be wary of cheekweld if you are going to use an optic - generally speaking, optics on the Vz and AK are mounted a tad high and require a rise if you like putting your cheekbone on the stock rather than the fleshy part if your cheek or jawline. Look at a FAMAS with a scope mounted on the top for a full retard example.
>>
>>30962124
Gonna have to wait a bit on the stock adapter I don't they're are in country yet.

>Parts list incase you wanted
*Side mount rail (Some rifles come with this as standard I think the CSA ones)
RS regulate low vz mount w/ aimpoint attachment
Aimpoint pro
RS regulate stock adapter and magpul Zhukov-S stock
Polymer forend looks just polymer with custom stippling.
Not sure what is available for fake suppressors for the vz threading in Canada but im sure theres some.
>>
>>30962205
I'm not going to bother with the fake suppressor, but I'm definitely looking forward to the stock adapter coming out. The rail in the pic seems a little expensive at $200.
>>
>>30962391

>>
>>30962981

Or maybe they called him out for selling garbage. I can't understand why a business would even try such a thing and not expect people to find out.
>>
>>30963019

Yea it's the T2 garands using Danish parts and some hack job on the locking lugs of the bolt. Welded and grinded down.
>>
>>30963019
They're both.
Italian parts assembled on Danish recievers with new barrels. Advertised as authentic and superior to commercial when they're simply poorly made commercial.
Barrels were poorly installed and have excessive headpsace. Bolt were welded and ground to fit and are unsafe to use.
Basically a stockpile of nice parts got butchered by a hack taking 13 minutes per rifle and then sold as premium rifles.

>>30963019
TL:DR is that they are advertised as authentic T2 Garand rifles done by Breda and Beretta company chambered in .308 and when he first posted about them, I actually believed him, given the extremely small numbers he imported relative to the market (IIRC roughly 130 rifles). They turned out to be complete fakes, since they were built on Danish receivers (putting the starting point as outside the area for actual T2 Garands), and used a ton of commercial parts (like a repurposed .30-06 barrel instead of a purpose built .308 barrel like the original T2s). On top of all that, the bolts were heavily modified to fit and "work" resulting in an extremely dangerous rifle to fire, primarily because the locking lugs could very easily fail and you could catch an M1 bolt with your face, something you don't want to do, at least if you want to keep your face.

If you want to try the guys are bro's and you'll earn cred if you can run an inferior guns well. Round count overall is fairly low probably 100 rounds each or rifle and pistol, maybe two boxes of shotgun ammo.

Both are equally as rugged and reliable. They are very similar internally except the VZ is striker fired where the SKS is hammer fired. I've put >5000 though mine with 2 or so light primer strikes.
>>
Why is the SKS recommended as a starter rifle?

Sure it's cheap but the ammo is much more expensive than .22lr, and by the time a new shooter has acclimated to shooting for example a Ruger 10/22, wouldn't it be better to pick up a "better" more expensive gun like an AR of sorts which performs better than an SKS?

Sorry for the ignorance in my post, I'm nogunz.

Reliability, simplicity. It was designed to be issued to illiterate conscripts, so as long as you keep it fairly clean you cant really fuck it up.

I love how tough the SKS is. I feel like I could beat a bear to death with it, then throw it off Mount Thor and it'd be fine. And that's great for a SHTF scenario. Could you trust you Vz like that?

North Sylva submitted an X95 Tavor to the RCMP for a status designation, so hopefully in a few years we'll have NR X95s in Canada. It will probably look like the version seen at the top of the pic, so make of that what you will.

Now the speculation begins.

Did the Cgn management finally grow a spine and tell marstar to fuck off, or did marstar just take their ball and go home?

Probably a bit of both. CGN must have told John to clean up his act, and instead of being a respectable person he just told them to close his account.

American version has had a really retarded alteration, where they extended the butt plate to keep compliant to some OAL requirement they have while getting 16" barrel

I really hope we get 18.5" barreled option with standard length in buttstock (should be plenty to meet Canadian OAL requirements)
but it's a lot more likely we will get the American retardation with Canadian length barrel
>picrelated is American 16" versions for comparison of stock/buttplate length
>>

We probably wont get the american model seeing as IWI already produces models direct for Canada.

FELLOW /K/ANUCKS HALP PLS

I just shot my SKS ( 150 rounds of the corrosive stuff) and brought it home after a 2 hour drive and THIS was on my pristine bore opening on action side WHAT DO? How could it be rusting after 2 hours and how do i prevent next time? Am i Kill?
>>
>>30975014
You aren't kill, get cleaning that right now and you'll avoid the majority of problems.

In future, if you're concerned, carry a bottle of water out to the range to flush it right away. If you mix some ballistol with the water (one part ballistol, ten parts water), it will work better (the ballistol will get into the nooks and crannies and displace the water as it dries). Then do your normal corrosive cleaning routine when you get home.
>>
>>30975168
When i finished shooting i did pour some windex down the barrel but didnt follow up with a patch. Is this probably why? Would following up with a patch prevented it or should i pick up some ballistol for this?
>>
>>30975014
It is fine, just clean it out. Next time wipe it with a touch of oil before transport

Story of my rusty sks
sks was left for 3 weeks without cleaning after shooting 300 rounds of corrosive last year. It was spring so lots of salty moisture in the air. Sks was fucked, even the trigger group was coated in red. Bolt was in awful shape. The only rust free surface was the barrel.

Took forever to clean, I also ended up changing the colour of my bolt carrier as I had it sitting in cola for 24hrs to help remove tough rust spots.

I never forgot to clean it again.
>>
>>30975208
Water would be better than windex, and a patch could help- but the water part is the most important. The ballistol would definitely be better than windex, but if you can't find any, just use water.
>>
>>30975014

>>
>>30975252
>>30975274

>>
>>30975334
I use Brillo, steel wool, and dish rags. Any solvent will work and and then any oil after. I mean any oil will work, from wd40 to used motor oil, anything will be better than nothing. Sometimes I have left my sks without having cleaning for a few hundred rounds over a couple months, no big deal at all man.
>>
>>30975334
Once you get u get more familiar with the sks, you will be doing complete tear downs cleaning and reassembly in about 30 min or less. Don't worry about little spots like that, they are easy to deal with. Keep the gun oiled and you won't have a prob. I use seafoam deep creep and it's petty good, I just spray the fuck out all all my guns before they go into the safe.

bring whatever you've got. semi autos are a HUGE advantage. That being said i shoot an 870. If your bad at shell loading there is only one way to get better.

If you ever get prosecuted for possessing firearms without a current & valid license, just use the legal defense of "Officially Induced Error."

You made a reasonable attempt to renew your license, there is no legally-binding cut-off parameter for renewals (other than "just do it before it expires"), and I assume you've made several phone calls and maybe even a few letters/e-mails.

I would also try to get in touch with Canadian gun lobby groups such as the CSSA and CCFR. I know most Canadian gun owners don't like to be loud and obnoxious, but this is one of the few occasions where you do want to be known. Tell everyone what's happening before you get arrested and the media manipulates facts to work against you.

True I would be mostly in it for fun.

Here's what I would probably go with now.
I plan on replacing the T97 with a PDW AR i'm building. The shotgun with the same model but magfed and the pistol either keep working out the kinks or replace with a glock17/19, Steyr M9A1 or P-07/09 depending on whats cheap when I have the money.

Also 10 round LAR and 50 beo mags are they legal or are you forced to load in only 5?

>Also 10 round LAR and 50 beo mags are they legal or are you forced to load in only 5?
The gist of it is that they're technically legal, but the cops will give you a hard time.

What could be a fun weekend could easily turn into hours of arguing in circles until one of yous fucks offs.

I would recommend carrying a stack of paperwork proving that they're legal, just to save you some time.
>>
>>30983602
I meant specifically for 3 gun comp but yes I always and would recommend that everyone carry a copy of special bulletin 72 with them every time they go shooting.

The rail adapter has four little screws. You simply slip it on over the YMA rail and screw them tight.

Considering getting in touch with a lobby group but more interested at protecting myself legally at this point. I have to face it, I'm already in illegal possession of firearms, 6 months lean time, and have made every attempt I could within the system as I know. I have left a complaint with the civilian review and complaint commissions as of last month, so I have planned to check up on them as well this week. Regardless, I have lost all faith in our federal government.

Lobby groups can often help you with getting a lawyer.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that most of the major lobby groups even offer/provide legal services to members. Seems like a good time to join.

I genuinely wonder how long it'll take for the country to be tired of Trudeau.

Unlike the US, we don't have term limits, so in theory, we could have Trudeau as our Prime Minister for more than a decade.

On the bright side, Canada always seems to flip-flop between Liberal and Conservative, so we might as well get our Liberal phase over with now.

I'm going to sound like an asshole, but this is a genuine interest question: if one of the main benefits of the FTU on a T97 is lower rail for lower optic, what is the point of putting the AR riser on that red dot???
ballparking the height, it looks the same as if you had standard upper and mounted the dot on the rail adapter without the riser

Unless you find a YMA, you want an adapter. The Chinese have a line of optics with the same mount, from a "totally not an ACOG" to red dots and fuckhuge night sights, but they refuse to export them. Thankfully, the rail/TRS combo I used to use is actually very comfy.
>>30987387
I will buy a second T97 to FTU down the road, but it was enough of a pain to find this optic that I'm keeping the first one stock. Remember, the FTU requires you to cut the gun down, it isn't reversible.

For shooting it, I lean in all Operator-like. As you can see, I'm a tall guy, and there's no real way to increase the LOP.

The optic is a YMA-95 "White-Light Sight". It uses a proprietary mount only seen on QBZ-pattern rifles, and is like a tiny Chinese SVD optic. It holds zero when removed, and the mount is a quick-release type (the rotating lever on the side), and it features a low-light toggle switch at the front of the base which basically just toggles a soft green LED overlay over the reticle. It comes in the leather case pictured, which is VERY high quality, and the certificate and booklet. It's an auto-focusing 3X optic. Apparently, the PLA wanted this kind of mount and carry case because of their doctrine regarding how a Designated Marksman operates. Unlike the west, the Marksman would keep his optic in the case, only pulling it out when required. Or so I've heard.

The biggest problem is simply finding one. Very, very few came in around 2010 with the first batch of T97s, and only through one (now defunct) importer. Estimates peg it somewhere around 20 of these things making it in, and the Chinese have said that no more will be sold, due to cost of export or some crap. I can't point you where to find one, because they don't ever pop up for sale, and few info at all exists online. I got lucky, someone came to me and offered it. All you can do is prowl the EE and wait, I suppose.
>>
>>30988992
Ohh fascinating. Its the ultimate Type-97 accessory. How much did you pay for yours?
>>
>>30989094
I paid $750, but I suspect I underpaid, simply due to its rarity. I could EASILY demand $1k or more and get it. Every Type 97 owner who isn't rocking the FTU wants one. It's the only way to "properly" mount an optic, and it rapidly pops on and off if you feel like using irons.

I intend to do a video review of it, if I can get my hands on a decent recorder.

sks, vz 58, norinco m305 are viable options.
With the m305 you can technically legally fire off 10 and 20 round mags.
>not before Crazy Tok Guy stops and possibly arrests you.

>>30989899
Well the sks is a good starter rifle from 2-3 hundred. But the Type 97 is a good bullpup for 900 and then there is the VZ 58, Id add the Type-81 but they haven't been cleared for import just yet so I cant say anything about it.
There are ARs but typically expensive and I don't know much about them.
