You could theoretically get a .22 rifle, and thread an oil filter on the end. The neighbors will never know, and the ATF probably won't find out. So I know it's not a very popular opinion but do you really need to kill them? There are other better options that don't involve killing them honestly. Honestly at this point I've found just leaving them alone is what they want the most anyway, why not build away from the squirrels instead of just killing a bunch of animals.

A slingshot is by far the most ineffective tool for the job though, as is killing things. This isn't highschool anymore, we don't have to be edgy and try to impress people.
