Why, just look at the AR, FAL, or even G3 series of rifles.

When you have such a reliable and well-rounded firearm as th AK, all others are worse in comparison.

I know this is a bait thread, but I just woke up and this is the first thread I saw.

"AK's are unreliable" is as memey as "AK's are unjammable" or "US soldier in Vietnam threw away their M16s for AKs".

ARs have certain characteristics that make them more able to tolerate certain conditions more reliably than AKs, and vice versa. One particularly excellent attribute of the AK is that in a nightmare scenario that extremely large amounts of dirt does get included inside the action, unjamming it is a far simpler affair, popping off the dust cover and emptying it out, possibly washing it out with some water if the mess is particularly bad. AR-15s, once filthed to the point of jamming, are actually quite a bit more maintenance heavy to get back into working order.

The primary disadvantage of the AK compared to, lets say, the AR-15 platform, is not any perceived "lack of reliability", which is a dubious claim based in youtube videos and personal anecdote. It is its lack of modularity. The AR-15 can swap everything from calibers, to barrel lengths, to gas systems far easier than the AK.

Complete non-issues though. No BHO makes it simpler and the charging handle just requires you to tilt the rifle to the left a bit.

Good for fast target acquisition in mobile combat. Worse in static shooting than diopter sights. Both are inferior to optics.

How is the safety an issue? Just flick it with your index finger.

I find rock and lock mags easier to insert in shit positions with no sight, wearing clumsy gloves during winter.
None of these things are poor ergonomics.
