Which style does /k/ prefer?
>>
I like the look of revolvers with longer barrels.
>>
>>30955268
I prefer semi autos, that said I appreciate a good looking revolver.
>>
>>30955268
revolvers are easy to hold and can fire different lengths and load of cartridge
>>
>>30955276
Same my friend
>>
you never really get a sense of how big those revolvers are when you see them in pictures by themselves, because they're so well proportioned. only when you hold one in your hand or see a pic like this that you really understand why dirty harry was such a bad-ass. for a 3"(2" maybe?) barreled revolver that thing is fuckhuge.

when you see revolvers in pictures you think eh that doesn't look too comfortable to hold, but they really are, especially when they have the big flat bottom wooden grips like on the model 27 and 29.

given the inherent bulk of revolvers may as well go all out
>>
Revolvers are more pleasant for recreational shooting in my opinion, owning several autos and one wheelgun

Trying to pick one myself. Do I want to be tacticool or a cowboy? I guess both eventually, but I have to start with one.
>>
>>30955268
1911 because revolvers with full underlugs are ugly.
>>
>>30956128
Follow your heart, but you will wind up with both. If you go with a more modern styled revolver, the 686 or 686+ are great choices.
>>
/K/ is your general mall ninja, nothing more nothing less.
>>
Semiauto for work, revolver for fun.

Do yourself a huge favor and look for a prelock model. My -5 is honestly one of the last few thousand made without a lock.
>>
>>30955268
auto
>>
1911/Hi-Power/CZ-75 lineage > revolvers > other autos > flintlock pistols > rancid moose smegma > Glocks
>>
>>30955268
I prefer semi-autos because I like .45 ACP, and revolvers need moon clips to use it.
>>
>>30956531
My nigga, 686+-5 reporting in.
>>
>>30955268
I prefer revolvers. There's just something so fuckin cool about a .357 or a .44 magnum revolver. I have way more fun shooting my SP101 than I do shooting any of the semi auto pistols I've shot.
>>
>>30956644
Same. That's why Ruger Vaquero in .45 ACP, 1911 mags as speed loaders, it's fun bruh.
>>
>>30955268
I like both
>>
>>30955268
Yes.
>>
>>30957271
>using a 1911 mag as a .45 ACP SSA speedloader
That's just crazy enough to work

I like wheel guns with a minimum of 4inch barrels.

My dream pistol is an STI The Edge in 45acp but commiefornia only allows 10 super scary assault bullets per mag, so i would rather get a revolver than pay $1k+ for a gun that i cant even use to its original full potential.

>pic related, only gun I would ever get in the Lara Croft two tone.
>>
>>30955276
I think they're so fucking ugly if they don't have a full underlug for the ejector rod. magna porting on shrouds looks ugly too to me for some reason.
I like those old 1911's pre accessory rails and shit very sleek handgun.
>>
I like both....

Revolver or semi auto?
Both.
>>
>>30959419
Ironically that's why the Delta Elite makes sense in Commiefornia. When round count is capped, get the most boom per trigger pull.
>>
Generally speaking, I think revolvers look worse. That being said, the handguns I tend to find the most aesthetic tend to be wheel guns.
>>
well of the two handguns ive owned both have been revolvers, but then again of all the handguns ive handled the smith and wesson 5904 has been my favorite.
>>
>>30955268
both

NEXT!!!
>>
>>30960680
shit taste
>>
>>30960415
Might make sense but doesnt mean its nearly or even 1/10th as good looking as the 2011/revolvers. Dont get me wrong I love me a good looking 1911 but like I said it falls pretty short to the 2011 and just a good looking revolver.
>>
>>30956531
Why prelock
what does lock do
>>
>>30961151
it will lock the hammer from going back, it isnt a big deal because you can get it removed. But it really detracts from the over aesthetics(pic related). The lock is that little whole above the cylinder release, they provide a special key to go with it.
>>
>>30956128
Be a tacticowboy.
>>
>>30955268
Range shooting = Revolver
Combat shooting = Automatic
>>
Hmmm my absolute favorite 1911 style or that God forsaken underlug...

If it we're a python or something maybe this would be tricky
>>
>>30955268
I've carried both of those guns. The automatic is very much more comfortable IWB. It's not only thinner and flatter but the handle doesn't stick up as much from the holster, different shape.
Revolvers are cool and all but if you're talking EDC the auto is the way to go every single time.
>>
>>30964503
maybe iwb.
in a pocket holster a J frame snubbie prints far less noticeably than a pocket auto.
revolvers print less in shoulder holsters too.
>>
>>30964599
True but in my humble opinion, I don't want to go below 3" for a .357mag because that short of a barrel just gets you nothing from all that powder and a 3" barrel is a little too long for pocket carry. I guess there's .38 special but... I guess if you want an easy pocket carry those guns have their place. If you already have your pockets spoken for it's a moot point though.
>>
>>30960952
this
>>
>>30961151
People bitch about the tiny little lock hole above the cylinder release. Its not a big deal at all, I never notice mine. Its a tiny little spot and there is a lot of real estate on a 500 mag x frame revolver.
