Learned about it first looking for a quality and non toxic lube and rust preventative coating for my blades.

Never even thought to use it with guns until I saw Hickok45 use it.

Before I was using froglube and that stuff is a bit pricey compared to a spray can of ballistol.

Takes a bit of time to spak, followed by a couple passes with a stiff nylon bore brush to remove copper fouling but powder and lead comes of instantly with a wet patch.


I also use ballistol for cleaning steel tools, chsinsaw teeth, bike gear chains and even slidin door tracks.

Only downside is that the female in my life dose not like the smell.

KY Jelly, heating sensation. Gives a nice sheen to the outside compared to the regular stuff.

Spray can of clp and the liquid form in small bottles is all I use. Tickles me pink whenever I can put a drop on my finger and cover my entire pocket pistol with a thin layer of it. Shit just works.

Yes it's awesome. I use it as a general purpose and have a heavy solvent and Slip 2000. I still use what's left of my RemOil for a few parts and cleanings on my older guns.

It is cheap, it works well, but fuck me does it stink up a room, just opening a container of it contaminates the air in the room with its stench that takes like a half hour to go away.

Ballistol is great - if you live in 1891.

Nowadays theres tons of better gun lubrications.

But then again: Ballistol is good for everything EXCEPT guns: You can give wooden stocks a wonderful shine, it softens even the oldest leather, hell, its even so natural and non toxic that its allowed as lubrication in the food industry

Long story short: Its good for everything but gun lubrication.

For a split second it was an addon item on Amazon. It's not anymore, back up to almost normal price. I got one at $3 and it was with other shit so shipping was free, if I had known it was temporary I would have bought a fucking dozen

I use ballistol on everything except the bore where I use CLP. And on pistol slides I use teflon lithium grease.

I wasted a lot of my time using trash products to get to the products I'm using today. I wanted things that were nontoxic and would clean easily.

Cleaning:
Bore tech copper cleaner and carbon remover or the eliminator which is like a mix of both
Degreaser when the gun can handle it

Oiling: slip2k or ballistol

Storage: corrosionx

What kind of treatment should I use for my enfield? It's like really dark wood, almost black. I'm scared that the wood will lose it's awesome look.

Also where and how do I use grease? In which cases is it suitable?

I usually clean with Kano Kroil and then use Slip2000 to lubricate. EWL says it can clean but I already have like 6 different cans of Kroil so I'm fine to use that up for cleaning and save the EWL for lube duty. I'm happy with the combo.

Just use synthetic motor oil and red HP grease. Make some eds red for cleaning
