I looked at it like this, if I was to get the 5x thats a healthy amount of magnification to be locked into all the time. Youd be better served with a Strike Eagle or PAs 1-6x (these are the same scope). Thats why I opted for the 3x not to much to have to deal with all the time but enough to reach iut a bit further, fits my terrain better.

Build quality is excellent IMO, its no ACOG but its not a Sightmark either, its has some heft to it. I like the ACSS reticle, it takes common batteries, the turret caps are attached in a manner that forms a watertight seal to the turrets. Glass is clear to the edge and it accepts standard ACOG mounts. That was a big one for me, I looked at the Vortex Spitfire 3x and the no QD mount available killed it for me. What do you mean by round turns? I havent heard that term before.

actually I have nomex wiley x tac gauntlets. along with a massif multicam combat shirt I have thas flame retardant. all the kevlar along with face protection should help but its still a bad thing.
