my good god thats fucking beautiful
>>
>>30949187
So was that like a repeater or like?
>>
>>30949187
what is this?
>>
>>30949215
by the looks of it
>>
>>30949215
A revolving flintlock, like a predecessor to cap and ball guns.
>>
>>30949187
whats the best choice for babbys first cap and ball revolver?
>>
>>30949425
I personally like kits for the hands-on factor, but I am no expert. All are loaded similarly so get one you like the feel of.

does this count? got it today as a family heirloom and nobody else wanted it so i grabbed it. it says made in spain on the barrel, anyone know anything about it?
>>
>>30949987
It most definitely counts, however I am not a historanon, so I would ask whoever in your family might know.
>>
>>30950027
ha, that would be nobody. im going to have it looked at and if i can im going to shoot it. pretty sure its 50cal
>>
>>30949987
Is there a Jukar emblem near the made in Spain marking? Probably a Kentucky rifle repro made in the 70s in .45cal
>>
>>30950064
Be careful, black powder is a tricky business. Even if the ball is a mm too big or small shit can go south fast.
>>
Who knows a cheap black powder pistol kit?
>>
>>30950189
>>30950198
no jukar makings, no markings at all except "made in spain" that i can see. theres no patchbox and all the metal (but the barrel of course) is brass. bore measures 1/2 inch. im thinking its some kind of fowl scattergat. my grandma told me before she passed she bought it for my grandpa at an estate sale a good long time ago. also the trigger feels locked or its just hard as hell to pull. maybe just a cool wall hanger??
>>
>>30950333
Def a cool wall hanger. Shame about the trigger though. Should be fairly easy to work on. Though, without knowing the model it'll be hard to get replacement parts for it.
>>
>>30950427
well i just dry fired it because fuck it why not and it works fine, just really heavy pull. why the hell is there no proofs or anything on it though? have you ever heard of that before?

black powder for HD? gonna try a friends guy this weekend.
>>
>>30950554
Either a replica or a handworked gun but "made in Spain" in English is a bit strange
>>
>>30950564
A viable choice if you are sure you want to kill, because if you miss interesting things can happen
>>
>>30950568
my grandpa used to shoot it i know for sure. im going to a local gundoc with it as soon as i can i think.
>>
>>30950554
>>30950554
Yeah the made in Spain made me think modern repro, and jukars was the big one in Spain that made them. Hence, why I thought that might be the case. I can't think why a barrel would have a made in Spain roll mark but no manufacturer info.

I got nothing, anon.

I'd recommend taking some detail shots of the mechanism/fixtures and posting it up on a black powder forum to see if anyone can identify it.

Good luck, anon.

>A revolving flintlock
IMPOSSIBLE! Everyone KNOWS that Sam Colt INVENTED the concept of revolving cylinder guns!!!!

I know it's true because 'murrica.
>>
Anyone know anything about good Civil War muzzleloaders? I've heard that Pedersoli is decent but beyond that I know nothing.
>>
>>30950943
Pedersoli makes good kits, a bit of wiggle room mechanically but solid
>>
>>30950889
I know you're just pretending to be retarded. But you're still retarded.
>>
>>30949425
Realistically, a Pietta. They are sufficiently well made to be safe, but are much cheaper than Uberti. If you look around, you can get them new for under $150 for less popular models.

I paid $130-something for a """""Confederate Navy""""" in 45 cal, ultimately flipping it for $225 on an auction. If you want to load hot, get something with an steel frame.
>>
>>30949425
Honestly, I really like the Ubertis.

If you spring for the 1858 New Army, you won't regret it.
