/k/ IDK what to do. I'm cross eye dominate and the Aimpoint seems like it'll be a motherfucker to use while the Eotech seems like it'll have less parallax and ease of use will be more than the Aimpoint due to size. Anybody use both? Only have $400ish to spend.

I'm cross dominant (shoot right hand, dominant left eye) and I just close my left eye and shoot with my right. Works perfectly fine. If you insist on shooting with both eyes open the Eotech works better because of the thinner profile surrounding the glass and the larger reticule pattern. Any decent holo or red dot is completely acceptable though, don't listen to faggots insisting you need to buy the top-tier stuff.

This is why new ones don't have AAs and have batteries mounted horizontally/smaller batteries. See 552 vs XPS2.

If you're using it for 3 gun/sport shooting the Eotech is generally better in terms of the window size.

The generally lower MOA dot also helps when used with a magnifier, and the 65 MOA circle reticle can be nice depending on user preference, and the EOtech is definetly nicer for both eyes open as >>30953197 points out.

The Aimpoint has an advantage in terms of weight, durability and an extreme advantage in battery life.

I personally had a 512 and traded it in due to personal eye issues, which is why it's definetly important to go cabellas or whever and actually look through them first. And while both have solid warrantys, the gas issue >>30953526 brings up is enough reason for me to be slightly wary about using one for HD or whatnot.

tl;dr try an eotech and if you really like it buy one.
If not buy something cheaper.
