quality isn't bad BCM is fine, it's just a $400 complete lower that really should only be about $250. Lots of folks don't like the gunfighter stock and the FCG is nothing special.

as for mounting across the receiver/hg it's a commonly known "no-no". i dont really know the mechanics behind it.

You don't do it because the two are never even. The dimensions are always off, so you have poor contact between the optic mount and the rail(s). Poor contact makes for zero shift, not to mention the rail moving over time will also shift zero. It's unavoidable no matter the manufacturer or the precision used during manufacture, only monolithic uppers don't have the problem.

It's a Strike Eagle, yes.

It's not a problem for other people because once you collapse the stock out farther, its not a issue.

You miss the original point I was trying to make. I was saying that because I like a shorter length of pull, I needed to push the scope farther forward so I fell within the proper eye relief of the scope.

If I mount the scope on just the upper, I need to pull the stock all the way out, therefore increasing my length of pull which I don't like.
