Eotechs are built like shit. Well, the pre L3 Eotechs were legit.

Magnifiers are an attempt to shoehorn functionality of a magnified optic onto a non magnified optic. While not a terrible thing to have per se. The execution of many of them are pretty lackluster at best. Additionally SCAR 17s are known for the recoil impulses at the micro level that kill cheap electronics.

If you want the functionality of a red dot, with the ability to magnify as needed, look at the Kahles and Swarovski 1-6x offerings.

Mine didn't do it originally but I adjusted it for a different type of ammo out of curiosity and ran out before I could dial it back in.

Mine is a later one though so maybe that cross bolt was part of the later batches. I don't have a bayonet or a 25 round mag for mine, but I really do want both. Gonna pick up an MG-13 mag at some point to modify.

I honestly didn't know it had gone up. I got all mine years ago and I shoot through it slowly, still have a crate or two left. I probably shoot more with the mausers than the hakim. It doesn't make friends for you at the range - my friends hate shooting next to me when the hakim is going. And we're used to shooting military calibers next to each other.

Those m95's kick like a mule too. I have about 50 rounds for mine, no plans to buy more or buy dies for it. A couple shots per decade aught to satisfy my craving to shoot it. It is quite enjoyable when the clip flies up, though.

It's 8mm turkish cupro nickel, they are not reliable enough to shoot so I link em up and wear them when I am cleaning the house and doing jazzercise.

Can anyone suggest a good varmint rifle? I'm looking for a firearm and not a air gun (this is going to be my first purchase, but I want to get used to operating an actual firearm before buying something for big boys).

Basically, I'm looking into urban survival preparation as a hobby and I want to buy something like this for hunting in the city if shit legitimately hit the fan. To that end, I'm hoping to get something build like a brick. I know its a small caliber, but I'd prefer it to be solid and reliable. I don't care if its a littler heavier; I just don't want it to feel like a toy.

Even just suggestions on what to looking for would be appreciated.

The AMT was called SIG 510-4, it shot .308, had no bayonet lug, no select fire function and no barrel rings for grenade shooting. The sights are worse compared to the military version.

The bipod of the AMT is worse than the one of the Stgw 57 as well. But the furniture is better than the one on the Stgw 57.

The Stgw 57 / aka SIG 510 had all those things there were missing, plus it shoots 7.5 Swiss / aka GP11 and it's much heavier due to the longer and heavier barrel. The sights are adjustable where the ones on the AMT are just normal ones.

The Stgw 57 is a purely military battle rifle made for war, the AMT is the civilian one made for leisure.

There are 4 spots designated for 20 round 7.62x51 mags in the front it seems, however the two pouches on the flanks could definitely hold more magazines and ammo. (although I use it to hold my splints and IV sets). If you were using an AR you could probably hold twice as many magazines, There are various smaller pouches that would accommodate for those as well.
