How can 9mm even compete?
price
>>30922626
performance/price even
>9mm on left
>10mm on right
It's like its made for babbys
>>30922645
>>30922597
none of you can compete
>>30922649
It's like you want to get eaten by Polar bears.

p.sure 9x25 is more effective then 10x25
Trust me, OP. I really really want a glock 20SF (manlet hands) but even .45 acp prices are a bit hard to shallow at the moment hovering $18~22, with 10mm being $10+ than that, I am gonna save up and see
>>30922665
That's like saying .380 is more effective against larger targets than .40.
Oh wait, that's exactly what you're saying.
>>30922793
that's not at all like what he's saying. 9x25mm is a necked down 10mm. .357 SIG vs .40 S&W would be an accurate analogy.
>>30922837
Thought he mistyped 9x19mm as 9x25mm, which would be closer, but yes, you're right, my mistake on that one.
>>30922645
Honestly, 10mm is a little cuck round. I put it in the same category as 9mm. both barely suitable for self defense. Get on my lvl fags
>>30923890
GOML skrub.

Is that 500 mag? How many grains is that Holy shit
>>30923904
645gr HP's. near 100% weight retention. expanded bullet weighs 642gr.
Also have some 715gr solid's. Same bullet design minus the HP cavity. Yeah, 500 mag.
>>30923942
Mfw not using a 4000 ft lb energy round loaded snub .45-70 BFR
>>30923890
You are all of tiny baby men.
>>30924103
BFR means Butt-Fucking Round, right?
>>30924103
Now, you do know that you get a major velocity difference when Going from the 28" test barrel you get that 4,000ft/lbs figure from down to a 2" snub, right? Any real world chronograph data from 7.5 and 10" 45-70 bfr's are getting in the range on 2,000-2,200 ft/lbs. 500 smith is capable of 2,600 ft/lbs from an 8" barrel. Eat shit.
>>30922645
Why do people always use this picture and say it's 9mm next to 10mm. It's not 10mm its a 357 mag round. It even has the rim sticking past the side of the case when you look at it closely. A 10mm auto round is about the same length at 45 auto. God this rustles my jimmies.
Who /short and wimpy/ here?
>>30924257
357 mag and 9mm are more or less(.002") the same exact diameter. The two rounds in the picture obviously are not!
Looks like a 44 mag to me.

A 22lr is good enough for 2,400lb cows
I was kinda being facetious. 10mm is a very capable round, 357 magnum even more so(880ft/lbs from 6" revolver). I wouldnt take either of those calibers out with me in brown bear country. Cougars and Black bear, sure but want a hell of a lot more gun on me if im mucking around in grizzly territory. 454 casull minimum.
>>30924257
>its a 357 mag round.
>bullet not same diameter
>no guns
You must get your jimmies rustled a lot
>>30924442
your big boy revolver will only make shot placement more difficult.

Penetration.
You know the exact reason .45 was abandoned by the popo circa 1930
>10mm turning into a meme caliber
>>30922597
>10mm
>Not glorious 45mm anti-everything rounds
>not using our lord and saviors 44mag

Glocks headspace off the extractor, so it can feed .40 S&W without any mods. The only possible problem is the bullet having to "jump" a short distance from what is technically the chamber into what is technically the barrel.
This isn't an issue as the extractor is holding the cartridge and the cartridge is fully inside the chamber and supported and revolver bullets "jump" a larger gap from cylinder to barrel anyway.
I fire .40 S&W Winchester White box through my Glock 20 and have never had a failure to feed or extract. The stock spring and magazines are good to go.
>>30924493
Popo never really used .45. It was a Military round. Police used .32 and .38 mostly. Some started carrying .357 Magnum when it became available in 1934.
>>30924862
WUT? No, it headspaces off of the case mouth. Yes the extractor will hold the round in place well enough to get a solid primer strike but that does not mean it headspaces off of the extractor. Headspaces off the case mouth just like every other straight walled auto pistol cartridge.
>>30922793
Do you think less energy is more effective?
>>30924493
Police have never widely used .45
Even after .45 ACP was introduced, US police used .38 Special revolvers for the longest time

Should be somewhere in the 700 range. Not the OP of that post though.

Stop spreading this misinformation you cock goblin
>>30922597
No idea I use .45 and .357 mag.
>>30922658
Alaskan here, a buddy of mine works as security up on the north slope, they give him a 12ga loaded with slugs.
I myself use the same thing for bear defense although so far none of my encounters has resulted in an attack. I've only ever encountered grizzlies and black bears though, polar bears are much more dangerous and aggressive.
>>30927241
>polar bears are much more dangerous and aggressive.
That's why they use 10mm
>>30922665
Till you have real world tests resulting in a dead threat, being pretty sure is nothing but speculation
you kids are so cute with your tiny bullets
