Kalash Edition

I mean it;s lighter than the Galil, but there aren't many features.
I reckon you could do a mean Defense League impression with that.
Is it an old spec deact or a completely welded-up paperweight?
Obligatory toilet shot that's my new tradition with new de-acs.
>>30915268
Bit weird that actually, it is welded, but the barrel doesn't seem to have been chopped so no idea what's happened there.
You used to call me on your slav phone.
>>30915209
It's beautiful! You're lucky it doesn't shoot, the underfolders are notoriously uncomfortable to shoot.
>>30915280
That's odd to say the least.
To my knowledge, all Euro countries require the barrel and chamber (i.e. the most essential parts) to be completely BTFO-d for the gun to count as deactivated.
Pic related - my Suka.
>>30915384
God damn it that's hard to look at.
>TFW starting next year that will pretty much be the only legal way to get an AK in California.
Also, I'll have the money to get those tractor parts on Friday.
>>30915384
Could be under the handguard, I don;t know how to remove it.
>>30915410
A-at least the original receiver is intact, third pin and all.
>>30915430
The handguard? The upper portion is attached to the gas tube. You have to be able to disassemble the gun since the piston goes through the tube. If you can disassemble it, there should be a little lever on the right side of the rear sight base. Rotate that up and the gas tube will wiggle out.
>>30915482
That is true.
>>30915198
>>30915209
What's the damage like?
>>30915498
Problem.
Also check out this other fucking cool thing I got off the same guy. Gonna try it later when it;s a bit darker.
>>30915570
Then you're SOL if you want to change out the handguard at all. You can try that lever, still. It is possible they cut the piston off.
>>30915585
how much did you pay for that anon, those things are spensive
>>30915592
Won't budge. I always use a hammer for these kinds of things.
>>30915607
£65 and it;s brand new, with two replacement mantles and very helpfully, the instructions.
>>30915570
>>30915570
That weld shouldn't be difficult to break, assuming that:
a) you have a die grinder
or
b) you have a chisel, a hammer, and a lot of free time
>>30915617
A hammer would work to get the lever loose, they are always tight. No amount of hammering will get the tube off if you cannot get the piston out.
>>30915627
I do not condone breaking laws, but that would work.
>>30915627
I filed through a padlock once, I reckon this wouldn't be a problem. Much easier than the galil anyway.
>>30915650
If nothing else, you'd at least get to field strip the 'K and experience the joy of pulling the charging handle and letting the bolt carrier slam back home.
Can someone help me identify this helmet? Bought at a thrift store in Italy.
>>30915617
You're a bong, right? How much should I pay for a MK.7 helmet?

How much do you want for that?
It may be absolute shite, but I still have a soft spot for the ABU blue/grey digital tigerstripe pattern.
It looks kinda cool in a superficial "hi-tec urban camo for hi-speed oper8ions in a heavily fictionalized near-future" sort of way.
>>30916129
Don't want to risk the ban hammer. For prices message me either at my Facebook page: Sully's Surplus or email sullyssurplus @ gmail.com
I don't like Soviet shit because reasons, but this obscure cap was just too darn cool to pass up.
>>30916275
>I don't like Soviet shit
Get off of /k/. Your kind isn't welcome here.
>>30915728
I think I paid £60 for mine. I'd say £40-£50 is a fair price, cheaper is better.
Also holy shit am I bad at this paraffin lamp business. I think the first two attempts I didn;t put enough in, and the third time I forgot to close a valve before I started pumping. Try again tomorrow.

Nice find
Updated my LC-2 with a M1967 butt-pack, switched out my beat-up Marine LC-2 belt with a crisp Army one, and righted the compass/field dressing pouch to please Sully.

>Staph triggering Me!
What else are you looking to add?
>>30916885
Still need to put a first aid pouch on the shoulder strap. The little pocket like space behind the mag pouches is perfect for holding chemlights and sharpies.
>>30916885
How many chickens did that cost? If it was roosters you got a fine deal
>>30916919
Date and size.
>>30916919
To the LC-2, probably a first aid kit and a bayonet. Not sure what the average Joe wore on his webbing.
I've seen pics of guys wearing their shovels on the sides of their butt-packs so I did that for photo reasons but from what I've heard they usually kept them on the outside of their ALICE rucks.
I have a spare LC-2 belt and suspenders I may throw a holster and mag pouches onto later on.
As for the vest, did they wear anything on the belt? Spare mag pouches, canteens, etc.,?
>>30916962
On the LBV belt we wore one or two canteens and if issued a pistol the spare magazine pouch for that.
My LC2 kit was as pictured with an angle head flashlight opposite the first aid pouch. Yes normally we wore the e-tool on the ruck sack.
>>30916962
>>30917001
I would post a photo but I would first need to dig out the box of pictures from the attic, sort through, find the right one, scan and then post.
Dark days the early 2000's, I don't have a single digital photo from before 2005.

I'm looking to get a flashlight. Did you ever wear the bayonet, or first-aid kit? Or was that mainly medics?
>>30917043
2004 and earlier kinda all blurs together for me.
>>30917043
Although I'm very pleased with how my new digital camera takes photos.
>Soviet field jacket I brought home from Afghanistan
>>30917098
Rarely did I have a bayonet. I am a tanker so we really didn't have use of one. When I went to Iraq I wasn't even issued one for my rifle and I had my family purchase and ship me an M9 bayonet. Carried that when I had to escort EPW's.
>>30917110
Soviet Sewing Kit.
>>30917141
Makes sense, I may throw one on just because.
I'm hoping to start other sets too, like M1967 and foreign ones like PLCE.
>>30917206
I've got a pile of M67 gear.
I also forgot to answer you about the first aid kit. All that I personally carried was that little pouch that could hold one bandage. Some guys had the larger IFAK pouches (not the current IFAK with the elastic dummy cord) with the small plastic kit in it. We did have a few CLS kits that got passed around.

How much Soviet shit did you see over there? Anything big like tanks, vehicles left behind?
>>30917518
I saw plenty of left over Soviet shit then. I did bring home a couple of those OKZK uniforms.
Outside of Bagram about 15-20 minutes away there was an old Soviet base. Still had the walls, standing guard towers and a motorpool full of trucks, BRDM's and BTR's. Completely left alone do to how booby trapped it was.
Every bazaar had Soviet insignia and webgear, I was shot at by plenty of old Soviet weapons, someone in village we went through had a SSh60 helmet used as a leveling prop under their porch.
Pic related abandoned Tanks blocking half the road.
>>30917583
Another of one of the tanks.
>>30917583
Damn, they really up and left huh? You ever get to explore the old vehicles or anything, or was it sort of off limits? You mentioned them being booby trapped.
>>30917629
The Soviets just mined and booby trapped the fuck out of everything and I do mean everything then bailed.
I never fucked around with abandoned Soviet vehicles. I had enough people trying to shoot/blow me up to really want to fuck around with mines.
On Bagram the EOD guys would have to do sweeps every time it rained because some new piece of ordnance would show up.
>>30917583
What type of booby traps were there?
>>30917665
Damn, that really is a beautiful country.
>>30917683
>What type of booby traps were there?
Most anything you can imagine. Trip wires, mines from toe poppers to anti-tank, grenades with the pin pulled laying under hatches, doors, heavy rocks. We did have some warnings of chemical grenades as well.
It was a beautiful area.
>>30917724
Christ, was that ever cleared out? I wouldn't touch anything with a barge pole.
>>30917821
Afghanistan is the most mined country in the world. There are some countries that have deployed forces there only for the purpose of clearing mines. It will probably take a century.
We had a constant stream of locals injured by mines come to our camp for medical aid. Mostly kids.
I was looking for some photos of use with the locals injured by mines but they are on an external hard drive somewhere.

>>30917988
They really wanted to kill as many Afghans as possible.
>Is that an INOX M9?
No that is a well worn out standard issue M9. The way it carried on my leg and how I sat in the turret really rubbed right there on the grip and made it shinny. I ran the serial number on it and I remember it was from around 1992.
>>30917936

You mean when the NICS is overloaded at the gunshow? :^)
>>30918124
I probably will never again.
>>30918186
I'm not sure what you mean. Are you French?
>>30918192
Don't. Just don't. So many better choices out there.
>>30918293
The waiting periods are stupid. 30 days between handgun purchases, and 10 day wait to get any gun after filing the DROS.
No wait for C&R Longguns, though. They still need to be registered.
>>30918301
>so many better choices out there
Psh, how would you even know? ;^)
I know there are better ones out there so it probably will not be my first (mostly because it's so damn expensive). I will have to try a bunch before I pull the trigger (so to speak) on any one.
>>30918301
Scout plts in my unit used to have to have dudes tryout for it in order to become a scout. Nowadays any joeshmoe fresh outta basic can be placed inna scout plt.
Unless you guys have a different way of setting up sniper teams.

>>30918362

>>30918375
Yes.
http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/
Basically anything brand new from a small company or anything old is a no go. C&R Handguns (meaning older than 50 years) are exempt from the roster, but still require the DROS and all that fun stuff.
>>30918381
I am curious to see what happens to this state staring 2017. They put heavy(er) restrictions on AR-15s and virtually banned AKs.

I blame Alex at TFB. That cunt likes a gun and makes a video it suddenly goes up in value.
>>30920863
Nearly all of the local gun shops in my area are dedicated to tacticool shit.
They couldn't even tell my Enfield was an Enfield at the place I used for an FFL.

>M-67 buttpack
Arent those like really fucking rare? Maybe its a LC-1 or repro but a real m67 is just crazy
>>30922562
I thought it was but now that you point it out it doesn't have the grommet holes along the edges of the flap.
The stamp is almost completely faded, as is the US, all I can make out is
"FIELD PACK, COMBAT, NYLON"
If I recall the LC-2 butt packs were commercial weren't they? I've never seen an LC-1 version either.
>>30922622
Idk man, but if it is actually a M67 on i'd put it on a shelf. Moore militaria has one for like $500 US

>>30922673
I've got some LC-1 suspenders laying around somewhere with a spare LC-2 Marine belt, LC-2 mag pouch, and a couple M56 mag pouches.

>>30922692
>shovel in middle of the back

Looks like a good way to injure your spine.
>>30922692
My ony complete one is M-56, minus the sleeping roll carrier but nobody used those shits. Dont have picture because its disassembled on my floor. That other photo i posted is all out of wack, the two inner mag pouches are dated 1974, outer pouches dated 1989 and 1991, canteen is 1989, suspenders are faded and the belt is 1974 although marked LC-1. All my m56 is early war. Shovel carrier is 1962,m61 buttpack is 1961, suspenders are 1962, cant find date on pistol belt but its basically brand-new, mag pouches are 1967 and canteen pouch is 1961 with a 1964 cup and 1964 canteen.
>>30922719
It's more of a showcase, although this guy did.
Typically they have the canteen on the left hip, haversack on the lower back, and e-tool on the right, most guys don't carry pistols.
>>30922719
When unpacking I got to my insignia box, and forgot I had this, you gave it to me with the Eesti purple TTsKO trousers but I forgot to ask you if you knew what it was.
>>30922755
I haven't bothered to date much of my equipment besides my WW2 and older stuff, although about 99% of my LC-2 stuff is from the 90's.
>>30922789
Date your shit
>>30922660
Real M67 buttpacks were a USMC experimental item to be used with all the other very experimental USMC M67 gear, but nylon buttpacks were produced afterwards with the M67 buttpack name. The way to tell if you have a real M67 buttpack is if your buttpack has straps which cradle the suspenders and if those straps close with snap fasteners and not velcro.

anybody have experience with the East German rain pattern (strichtarn) gear? ive got a set of pouches, backpack w/y-strap, and im hunting down a belt and canteen. for sizing, i'm 5' 9", around 210#, and wear a size XL t-shirt, and 36~38 waist (depending on brand, usually i wear dickies or propper pants for work as part of my uniform) and usually 30" long.
what size trousers should i be looking for? from Gowen Military's sizing chart, it looks like i might be on the edge of 48m being borderline too small, and im thinking i should go for 52m. does that sound right?
how do i measure my chest size to figure out what size shirt and jacket to order? I've got a flecktarn jacket that fits well, are these sized the same to look at the size and order the same size? i have to dig it out to check.

As a last resort to fall back on when he runs out of rifle ammunition.
>>30923924
As a rule of thumb, field uniform trousers have a much-much lower survival rate than the matching jackets due to being exposed to more wear and tear.
>>30924235
True, but I value the look more than the practicality in this case. Do what you think is best.
>>30924227
Even ones that were used were of commercial manufacture.
>>30923924
Check polish eBay . That's where I got one of my sets.
Reason is the same that there's no czech rain pants. They get worn to shit and tossed out.
>>30924226
I think I have a large or XL jacket for sale, I'll have to check later. Email me. [email protected]
>>30924235
do i measure at the nipple line, armpits, etc? I'm assuming at the nips?
Also, does my reasoning on the pant size seem alright? seems bigger is better than too small.
any reccomendations on good suppliers for the East German if i'm a US buyer? I'm finding a bunch of stuff on ebay but its all lanky manlet sizes.

be prepared for it to be pretty fucking small, I always subtract about 3 inches from his listings.
>>30924514
>>30924552
Most of us don't care about sizes.
>>30924741
Hmm, really? I don't really care if something's too big but I don't want it too small, I like to be actually able to wear stuff.
>>30924818
That's my philosophy.
>>30924741
>>30924818
Most of what I collect I don't purchase with the intent of wearing it.

These older-style Bundeswehr pre-moleskin trousers. Where am i supposed to find suspenders for these?
>>30927866
Methinks any pair of oldschool button tab suspenders will work.
>>30927866
..and are they like really really rare and expensive?
>>30927895
No it won't. It only has buttons in the front, and so far it seems quite impossible to sew buttons on the back because the fabric is so thick
>>30927730
Why not? she's a qt3.14
Also, anyone familiar with the new french FELIN T4 clothing?
It seems that it needs it own set of suspenders. Any idea where to ask for these? Also, are there like different weight of clothes in that system. I mean like hot weather versions or something and such.
>>30927924
Oh, I see, it's one of those weird-ass "suspenders attach to the sides" sort of deals.
I suppose you could get US M-1950 suspenders and jury rig 'em to work with the buttons (shouldn't be too difficult to be quite honest with you fampai).
I'll just leave this here..
Anyone have the pic of the two russian (maybe some spetsnaz group) operators with the huge flora rucks on their backs with balaclavas and I think either VSS's or AS VAL's?
Maybe mountain troops? I found one of those packs for sale (I think) and I wanted to compare it. I just don't know what the model designation is.
Thanks.

Has it got a stamp or label with C1 or C10 on it anywhere?
>>30929350
All I can find are the size tags and import stamps. Why?
>>30929441
C1/10 was Eugene De Kock's unit and in his autobiography he mentions they had specially made sets of homelands camouflage that weren't quite right so were never used in the field.

If he went in that closet, he would see all the axis surplus I have. I swear, no matter what I can't trust anyone seeing something with nazi shit or anything. My mom was scared when she saw I had some SS armbands.
>>30930368
So instead of showing him and being honest about why you collect it, he'll have to find out from your mom or some video on the internet where you're finger fucking a k98 in full SS garb, shooting as russians and yelling "FUCKING COMMIE ASSHOLES STOP RAPING MY BEAUTIFUL ARYAN WOMEN REEEEEEEEEEE"

hello, I am Australian and one of our iconic brands is drizabone and drovers coats/dusters for the bush are still used as they suit the climate, however they're extremely expensive
something similar for a rain cover is the plash palatka which is essentially a heavy cotton tarp embedded with wax, does anyone have any thoughts about them?

Ausfaggot here. Just bought my first milsurp rifle.
I found a Type-38 Arisaka with the Chrysanthemum still intact at my local gunstore. It's in awful condition and the guys behind the counter said they were going to deactivate it and sell it as a display piece, so I felt like it was the Emperor's heavenly will for me to save it.
After disassembling, cleaning and degreasing it, it looks incredibly better (it actually shines now) and I've put it in a soak of Evapo-Rust to clean the bastard.
It's missing the main spring in the bolt, as well as the rear sling swivel, but they're easy to order.
How did I do?
