I have a ruger and I'm a bit disappointed with it the finish is ducking trash, the polymer stock is cracked and weak and mags are expensive and proprietary. I would go for the moss berg mvp. With a little work to smooth the bolt and perhaps a better stock it's better.

Custom grips, cerakote job, barrel chop, front sight relocation which requires a front sight to be ground down and a custom dovetail to be made to fit the new sight base. The front slide bridge doesn't have a lot of meat on it so it'll be a shallow dovetail, then you've got to peen or weld the sight in place. Replacing the safety with a decocker only, make sure everything still functions. It's not an easy job.
