Im in the market now for either a Glock 19 or Glock 17.
The main purpose will be for target shooting, home protection, and if shit hits the fan ill wear it OWB. I currently carry a G42 IWB, so i wont be holding this new purchase IWB.
What would you recommend? Im leaning towards the G17 just because it seems like it would fit more of my needs...the only downside I can see is if I eventually did want to carry it IWB, the G19 would be the better choice...your thoughts?

>If shtf wear it OWB
Hold (or better yet shoot) both of them
I prefer the 19

If you aint ever gonna wear the thing get a g17
If you ever want to CC get a g19.
I held both, and went with the 19. 17 is too big for a 9mm IMO, but I bet I could shoot better with it. MY uncle wanted a glock after shooting mine, thought I had a 17, and got a 17. No regrets. You can't go wrong with either. Eventually you'll have enough guns to not care about little details.

Having a 19, it's the last pistol in my collection I would consider for cc
>>30808688
I own the 17 and 23 (lol .40, fuck you it was a good deal)
I actually much prefer the 17 overall, but the 19 is just easier to carry. If you dont mind carry a full sized get the 17, if your main concern if concealing it then the 19 is the better choice

>17 is too big for a 9mm
should i consider the G22? I would prefer the extra capacity of the G17 tho
>>30808812
why? a lot of people carry the G19
>>30808827
Yeah I dont think I will ever carry it since I love my G42
>>30808812
I carry a 23 and I have no issues.
>>30808812
>If you ever want to CC get a g19.
I CC my g19 all the time new friend.
>>30808898
the only reason to get the 22 is if you want a .40
>X is to big for 9mm
its called variety, there are dozens of little pocket 9mms that Ii think are way to small and uncomfortable but to each their own

>Considering a Glock 17
>Glock 34 is readily available
>Glock 17L has special runs every now and again
I cannot fathom why anyone would want a full size pistol and not a long slide when they're not even trying to consider CC. Beyond that, the 34 is the same length as a 1911, which is CC'd by a shitload of people.
I CC a 17 every day. I have big hands, and I'm pretty stocky as well; so it's easy to IWB with a good gun belt.

I don't know how many people even know about the 34. I love mine, I just wish the sight picture wasn't fucked. I had to black out the front dot.
>The current year
>Keeping your Glock sights stock
I know, I know.
It would be a pain in the ass to CC, though. Comparing them to a 1911 is kind of apples and oranges.

Want to know how I know youre a manlet?
>>30808688
If you already have a carry gun get the 17. I'm skinny and everything prints on me so I carry an LC9s in the summer. I bought a 19 but kinda wish I got the 17 since I'm only going to be able to carry it in cold weather anyway. Plus 17 mags work in the 19 but not the other way around.
Is CCing a 29 a good idea?
>>30808688
Get the 34 if you never plan on CCW with it. I have all of the above and the 34 is the most fun to shoot.
>>30810001
honestly the 34 looks like 17 w autism
>>30809896
as a manlet, I carry a g19 size gun and have carried a g22 (loaner gun on a trip out if state) iwb with no issues. Anon is just a faggot.
>>30808688
Get the 19, you can always throw a 17 mag in it and a longer barrel on it.
>>30809815
I was thinking of using my 34 for CC. Slap on an X300 Ultra and a set of night sights, and I'm good. But I was thinking of doing so in a custom shoulder rig. Thoughts on that?
>Tfw no MP446 Viking yet
That'll likely be my ideal CCW. That or a G17, and eventually will relegate the 34 to bedside status.

MMMMM, so sexy. Matches the slide length perfectly.
>>30808688
Pick them up and decide which one balances more for you.
17 or 34
the 19s the perfect compromise gun if you were to only buy one but you bought a g42. you already specialized and have multiple guns. fuck compromise

This.
Honestly, my G34 is one of my favorite handguns right now. She's been 100% reliable and if I do my part I can lay down a "holes-touching" group at 15 yards unsupported with factory sights. I plan on getting a set of tru-glo night sights soon.
The 17 fit my hand better so I got it, but you can't go wrong with either. Just get the one that works for you.
Get the 19, and slowly start building a roland special out of it.
G17 because I you want your dog shot you can make it full fun
