I can safely say my Arsenal is a $500 better gun, in both terms of build quality and accuracy.

The only one of those century guns to work right was the WASR and ONE of the C39's, and they still dont group like the arsenal.

While its no Rifle dynamics, after I shoot out the barrel it has room to be improved when I have a new barrel put in.

I also have 2 Clinton era MAK-90's and its better than those as well, in both accuracy and it feeds hollow points.

My arsenal also came de horned, unlike my Mak's that have plenty of sharp edges, not that that matters too much, but hey its worth mentioning.

Both my Mak's and my Arsenal are my most reliable AK's, You cant go wrong with either.

honestly I am an AR guy, I love it. But these tests are utter bullshit. Its not what the AK can do with mud or sand in its action that makes people like it. Its that it can be left to rot for months in the dirt then cleaned up and function.
In Afghanistan we find the Taliban using AKs that have smooth bore barrels from being shot so much. Yeah its not accurate worth a fuck, but it still works. Thats why its popular. Because you can be a total retard and still get it to fire with a bit of oil.

It will cost you a lot more to deviate in any way than you will save by doing... whatever it is that you're proposing they're doing. US companies cut corners because they can't afford to tool up like fucking Izhevsk just to sell a few AKs to bubba schmucks on an already oversaturated US market.
Whereas Izhevsk has no problem whatsoever with making a couple dozen thousand more AKs on the line that has been set up for decades already, and selling them for more than they could ever hope to get from any military.

That would be the HK416/417, Sig MCX, Colt Model 703, etc. The AR design is sealed, with the forward assist being said sealant. Add a nonreciprocating charging handle on the top of the rifle for ambidextrous reach and you can seal the rear.
