OC'd my handgun IWB the other day for the first time. Was waiting for my concealed carry license and I wanted to stop by Walmart and grab some stuff/a shirt that does a better job at concealing/a belt until I get something kydex reinforced. Had to stop by Petsmart and I grabbed Wendy's on the way but I wanted to have my gun with me so I could try on shirts/the belt with it.

I found it really draining and I'd never do it again. I'm assuming people look and I don't want to draw attention to myself for any reason, just makes me uncomfortable, so I was very self conscious. Not only that, but I felt like whatever I said was going to be viewed in the context of "gun owners" rather than "random asshole on the street" so I felt the need to be really nice to everyone. It went fine and nobody said anything/acted differently.

I think handgun OC is fine still, it just doesn't mesh with my personality. I'm glad I tried it out at least once just so that I know how I feel about it individually.

It was actually helpful in my internal dialogue knowing that people probably don't notice IWB as much. Yeah, comfort would improve with OWB, but then I wouldn't have been able to delude myself into thinking that maybe some people don't see it.

I open carry sometimes when I go to the range, but never in any other places. Kansas has constitutional concealed carry though so I don't see a reason to ever open carry except for the previously mentioned comfortable transportation of a gun I'm about to shoot at a range.

Virtually every single person I know has at least one gun if not dozens and most people carry, but they all concealed carry if not at the range or in the woods. In 8 years here I've seen one non-police open carrier and it was actually just last week. He was a fat neckbeard who dressed like shit and had a shittily spray painted Glock. Not giving off a real good impression.
