Are .22 bolt action rifles the most fun weapon to shoot?
>>
That's subjective. I enjoy the hell out of nuggets, shotguns, and my lever carbine, but a bolt action in general is a lot of fun, and if you can afford a .22 it'll keep you at the range longer.
>>
>>30801475
I usually have the most fun shooting when I'm aiming at tree rats, so yes.
>>
>>30801475
In terms of casual "pop pop pop, ping ping ping", yes, shooting targets nonstop is fun. Had a nice and relaxing time with a 22mag leaver myself.

But the term "Fun" is subjective to oppinion like hell, if you haven't felt the sweet rush that is a .50BMG for the forst time, you have much MUCH more fun to be had in my eyes.

It is much more arguable to say that shooting in general is just fun, and we have prefrences on what we shoot.
>>
>>30801475
I have more fun with my CZ .22 bolt gun than anything else. Plinking away at cans and nailing critters with a well placed shot to the head is always satisfying. Ill usually have my .22 and my shotgun when im out clearing out rabbits. Cracking a rabbit right in the head from 30 or 40 meters away is much more satisfying than just blasting the shotgun in its direction and seeing it fall over

Don't have to pick shot out of the meat, either.

It's a win-win.
>>
>own dozens of guns. Everything from slavshit to ARs and the niggershit in between.
>favorite gun to shoot and play with is a $120 single action .22 pistol
>>
>>30801475
For some people. Not me personally though.

No. I like big guns that are fast and powerful.
I like it rough
>>
>>30801475
>.22

Nah, not for me.
>>
Don't own anything in .22

But I sure love my bolt action .308! More so than my AR or 1911...

Maybe it's a bolt thing
>>
>>30803762
It's a manual actions in general thing. Lever guns, revolvers, and bolt actions all feel a lot more involved than firing an AR or a Glock.

There's just something so erotically satisfying about working the bolt on a bolt-action

>when the bolt works just right
>>
No, .22 has too low of an accuracy ceiling, the QC on the bullets just isn't high enough.

.17 is the most fun, same basic feel, except higher potential for accuracy.

Yes, especially when it has the word Anchutz written on the side. Pic related.

>mfw my Nugget's bolt is smooth as butter

Hex master race
>>
>>30803934
My hex nugget's bolt sometimes sticks so hard it needs a 2x4 but is smooth as silk the rest of the time. How do you clean yours?
>>
>>30803912
I have an Anschutz
but it's an air rifle
It's still my most accurate gun sub 50yrd
>>
>>30801475
A well-functioning MK 19 firing HE is pretty damn fun.

Ballistol

Disassembled the bolt, soaked all the parts, waited for 20-30 minutes, wiped all the parts, reassemble, and voila.
>>
>>30804061
Thanks, anon.
>>
>>30803934
I've just got a standard russian 91/30. Bolt has never gotten stuck no matter how hot I get the thing. Guess I lucked out.
>>
>>30804068
No problem. I originally had sticky bolt problems myself, and Ballistol helped a lot.

>>30804098
It does seem like Mosins can be "luck of the draw" with some people. I lucked out myself, since my Mosin had been refurbished and cleaned by Molot; the only non-matching part was the bolt, which had some cosmoline (or something residue on parts of it.

10/22 with a 16x or better at 100 yrds
for maximum autism, difficulty, room to blame bad shots on the round or wind or load.
>>
>>30804121
Werd. And it's a damn shame they're so much more expensive now. At $75 it wasn't terrible to end up with a piece of shit with a large bore diameter and corroded threading.

I'm happy with mine. Got it from Cabela's for $170 two or three years ago. All matching parts, came mostly clean (first few times I shot it cosmoline would leak out of the stock once it heated up) and it shoots all right.

Gonna probably get an archangel stock, some rails, timney trigger, and get it recrowned to see exactly how good of a deal I got here cause fuck it.

I love manual action firearms. A lot of it has to do with being Australian
>>
>>30804444
This, our gun laws do suck ass, and id love to have an AR and an AK for the cool factor, but i honestly think i would have more fun shooting pigs or something with a manual action rifle. Semi auto is like an auto gear box, its easy mode and it takes away some of the fun and the feel of it all.
>>
>>30804444
Also moar pics of the Uzkon in action. Im probably going to grab one

Get those back in the safe before you're arrested.

Mate.
>>
>>30801475
Yes. I went through an entire box of 325 rounds this week at the range, and that's with only having one mag for my cz452.

Just bought some more last night, I burn through it so quickly because it's so fun to plink with.

>x16 on a .22 for 100 yard shooting
Do people actually do this?
>>
Is a .22 a good weapon to own for when SHTF
>>
>>30803886
.17 hm2 is better than .17 hmr
>>
>>30809838
a .22 takedown rifle (one you can break down and stuff in a backpack) would actually be a pretty great bugout rifle as you could carry 500-1000 rounds with it easily. But i'd reccomend getting a high powered sidearm in case you run into people or are in a gunfight.

I said it
>>
>>30801475
My favorite gun to shoot is my M1 Carbine.

I literally have never had more fun with a gun. It's probably my favorite gun just for that.
>>
>>30812383
17hm2
Can't into mach 2 (what it was named after)
>Can't complete with 17hmr or 17 cal centerfire rifles due to inferior ballistics
>Can't compete with 22lr (parent cartridge)
Due to higher cost
>Epic marketing failure by hornady

Lol, some neckbearded mouth breather on /k/ thinks it's awesome...
I wish I was surprised, but this is 4chan...
>>
>>30812281
Like a Glock 17 or what?
>>
>>30812655
>cute
>can into 10/22
>can't into mach 2, but can into penetration
>higher fast than .22
>better trajectory than .22
>better lethality at greater range than .22

Marketing was shit, but let no man tell you that .17 hm2's aren't heroes, too
>>
>>30813393
Personally I don't think there is a need for a gap gun between the 22lr & the 17hmr

>If only a 10-22 styled rifle was chambered in 17hmr with all the aftermarket
>>
>>30803652
This. Although blowing rabbits into pieces with an AR is a lot of fun as well.

Although more expensive
