Oh, and I should probably add that Trump has favored having better relations with Russia, so perhaps that fits into his framework of where NATO should go. That said, I'm not sure he necessarily favors entirely dismantling its role as a general defense alliance, but rather, advocates that its focus should currently be shifted towards counter-terrorism, which, in all fairness, seems to be the more pressing threat in Europe at the moment.

One B52 with a full payload of GPS-guided munitions could demolish every single North Korean strategic asset in a single pass. No other branch would be necessary aside from formally occupying the land and setting up defenses for when China pours into the nation to protect such a strategic location from falling into our hands.

There are a few people I speak to in the defense analysis field who have mentioned that NK has poured most of its money into three areas, nuclear weapons program, ballistic missiles, and artillery.

The artillery isn't widely spoken of in the media, but is seen as North Korea's most dangerous assets. Not just from mtheir chemical stockpiles (DPRK is third in the world, behind only Russia and the US in numbers). The Norks boast arguably one of the largest numbers of indirect fire weapons. The exact number is unknown but between the BM-28 Grads, Smerch, 170mm self propelled howitzers, and their new 300MM GMLRS that is thought to be able to attack anything north of Pyongtaek, it's thought that a full well-directed barrage would consist of up to half a million rounds going off at a time. RoK and USFK's biggest concern appears to be both in neutralizing or suppressing the artillery and their C2 and providing SEAD/DEAD services for the strike packages.

In short, they have a lot of targets to hit in a short time if they want to keep Seoul and Incheon from becoming a cratered, chemical wonderland.
