Washington State General.

Thinking about doing some STALKER challenges or maybe just some friendly overnight urban exploring meetup sometime before the end of August.
the place I have in mind is an hour north of Everett.

Would anyone be interested.
I understand why most people wouldn't want to meet up with a bunch of /k/ guys, or people from the internet in general, but I think it would/could be fun.

Thinking of doing a Friday or Saturday single overnight.

Nothing too crazy, or as big as NuggetFest. Just some tents, a huge abandoned building, and some comrades.
Probably no shooting, because people still hike out to it.

The location is http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/northern-state-ghost-town

In the description it says the buildings are off limits to the public, but I highly doubt because of the area, that if we showed up late enough, and set up camp, that we would even run into anyone.

What do you guys think in general? Good idea? Bad? Interested?
>>
Well shit, id be down. Provided I got nothing going on then. Bothell/Woodinville area here.

Interested From Tacoma. Gear is ready for deployment and exploration. I am good for overwatch.

Do you want to go full Tac or just light Patrol?

Bandit or scientist for me. Scientist seems more up my alley though. Seems fun overall though.

I was literally expecting a wall of shitposting, this is actually awesome.
I was thinking maybe the the last weekend of August, or whenever the most people are available.
I don't have a ton of gear, but I was definitely thinking rifle, handgun, spare mag, and cooking supplies for dinner.
I was thinking about doing the military challenge. Hard to do loner with a group, hah.

I'm down for whatever honestly. I just haven't done anything this summer and am starting to feel bad about it.
>>
I am free on weekends and pretty mobile as necessary. I keep a sleeping bag in the my Car as well as a Medical bag and 35 Bottles of water. I keep a couple cans of dinty moore in my X1 Bag and I can put either a SPR AR or Ruger Precision rifle in it and hike to my hearts content. Current single day record (this year) is 7 miles in 5 hours but I can do 6 in 3 1/2 usually on rough terrain. I am all for hiking up a mountain and staging a take over a rock out cropping and doing some shooting or just camping in the abandoned school building. I can go back to Corporate America when I get back to town...

I carry Comms'(Cell phone, HAM Radio), Navigate via GPS Coordinates off the grid and am ready for fun. Just need a goal and objective to have a little fun.
>>
OP here.
Just looked a little more into the building and I had no idea how close it was to a road. Someone could definitely see a campfire from the road, its like less than a couple hundred feet it seems.
Heres what the place looks like incase you were interested:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6611tc-GIzU

What do you guys think?
Might be a little too retarded to do anything here.

Any other abandoned spots you guys know of that we could maybe do?
>>
>>30783556
wow, disregard that video link, youtube autoplayed the next video and that one sucks. Look at this one:

https://www.thrillist.com/lifestyle/seattle/the-12-most-insane-abandoned-places-in-washington-from-vance-creek-bridge-to-the-fisher-flour-mill

The Nike Missle Silo is now in prime school zone so its not really feasible but some of the others could work.
>>
>>30783464
Definitely not as hardcore as that, but it sounds like a lot of fun.

>>30783556
I used to know of a bunch of places, but now I'm drawing a blank. I'll give it some thought. Got an email or something so all of us can keep in touch? Would hate to miss the next thread you make if this one goes 404.
>>
>>30783598
Can email me at [email protected]

Feel free to make another thread with ideas if this one does 404. I was just trying to get the proverbial ball rolling on something fun for /k/ to do. I by no means have any intention of being a leader of this kind of stuff, rather it just be a group decision.
>>
>>30783565
>>30783464 Here.
That looks like it might be fun to explore at night just for shits and giggles. Camp near by in the woods and move about after hours. Scout it out, Make a map etc(Recon), I think that would be fun in the STALKER fashion that this thread is.
>>
>>30783646
[email protected] for me.
>>
>>30783647
that sounds legit. Only downside I guess is after looking at this more, the whole area doesn't really look big enough for a group of guys to explore. Looks like every building except the main one is just a big barn more or less.
>>
Make sure it's is closer to end of August and I will totally be down. My kik is libertyTriceratops.

OP here again
this one seems cool:

wanted to do this with other /k/ guys about a year and a half ago but it fell apart faster than you could blink.
Its in Concrete, WA. Much further northeast I believe. I know for a fact camping there would be hard, and definitely illegal.
So I'll leave that up to the group.
>>

I just pinged via kik.
KIK name for me is wiredaudioanon.

Sounds good to me. I don't mind Driving here and there as long as the entry point to the Area doesn't involve rock climbing for the vehicle. General basic Gravel roads are good for me.

Local news station is talking about people wanting an assault rifle ban in WA. Whens the March on the capitol building?
>>
>>30784106
The statistics for that study group was all of 310 people. There is not enough broad support for it in the house/Senate and the populous in general.
>>
>>30784106
we could have an urban exploring adventure at the State Capitol in broad daylight with rifles. Camp out in their offices.
>>
>>30784171

>>
Quick question about WA gun laws, can I purchase a pistol from a private seller if I am 18? I don't know if I can now that you need to do a UBC through an FFL.
>>
>>30786203
You can purchase from a private seller but you still have to have a back ground check done.
>>
>>30787169
>You can purchase from a rifle from a private seller but you still have to have a back ground check done. Hand Guns in Wa are at 21.

I'm hearing bad shit coming down the pipes for us true north westerners. Wa state is about to get forcefully cucked by statists and commies
What do we do and how do we defeat them? I can't move out of my home state just because cali fags.
>>
>>30787324

>The statistics for that study group was all of 310 people.

This.

I can find 310 people who want to throw all the dirty hippies out of Seattle. So what?
>>
>>30787324
Keep a weapons cache in the woods somewhere. This is not exactly a state where it's feasible for them to search every inch of ground.
>>
>>30787344
I Found out my gf signed to keep i1491 on the ballot this November and almost broke up with her. She said she didn't know any better i was like bitch! We've been together for so many years and you didn't know any better?? She'll vote against it this November. I'm pretty worried though. I don't want the best state in the union to become anymore cucked. Our ccw laws are great. No mag caps, no awb, only thing that sucks is no more private sales...

what town in Washington are you thinking of moving to? There are two different political climates in the state.
>>
>>30794795
iirc if you become a resident here, that UT permit is no longer valid, since you have now gained residency in WA.
>>
>>30794851

I'm thinking of relocating back to the Olympia area, or somewhere south of Tacoma. I can make more money with just dealing with less taxes out there.

But the gun climate has been rattling my ideas.

No income tax = Good.
Property tax is OK in Pierce County.
Not to far of a commute from the prime paying jobs in seattle if you don't mind a commute.
Sales tax may be a bit higher here. Roughly 9 percent. Cost of living is lower than Seattle but certain common goods are the same price. Bonus no Sales tax on Gun Safes here.

Couple really good companies here to work for in the Puget Sound region as well with good benefits.

WA residents can get UT permits too. There was a big sign about that in Sportsman's Warehouse in Silverdale.
>>
>>30797981
true, but they are non-resident permits. their validity is different than if you were a resident of utah and had a resident permit there to use in other states
>>
>>30793308
The mountains here often exhibit anomalous gravitic paradox- the observed tendency of typically stationary mountains and other terrain to "float" at random intervals.

On a topographic map, these features are outlined by a dotted line.
