Dollar sign on the muscle
"The Gun and Its Development" by W.W. Greener. A lot of the book reads like an advertisement for Greener's arms, but there is a lot of good stuff in there. The modern printings are copies of the 1910 edition, which was the last one. There's stuff in there on very obscure aspects of firearms development in the 19th Century, like Spencer's shotgun (the first pump-action), Different bullet shapes that were experimented with, and the development of nitro-powder. Also some cool stuff on early industrial gun manufacturing and proof marks of the 19th Century.

>U.S. Army Special Forces Guide to Unconventional Warfare: Devices and Techniques for Incendiaries
>Anything by Ragnar Benson
Paladin Press put out a lot of good stuff on improvised weapons back in the day. A lot is out there as scans. Ragnar Benson and David Harber being the best two.

I might as well ask here.
Has anyone here read The Sentinel?
"Anything can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Wouldn’t you rather know that you had done everything in your power to have prepared yourself for that moment when something goes wrong? None of us plan to fail, but we may fail to plan.
In Sentinel, author Patrick McNamara provides an instructional guide filled with survival techniques for the family. Drawing from his background as a special-operations agent for twenty-two years, McNamara discusses the importance of being the protector of the family and provides a host of techniques, strategies, and procedures to ensure safety. He offers simple steps for being better prepared for power blackouts, home invasions, and attacks on the street and more. From your home to your vehicle and beyond, McNamara discusses how to plan for contingencies.
Sentinel provides the information necessary to help you take charge of your own domain and be able to count on yourself to protect your own life and the lives of those close to you."
Knowing Pat Mac, it might make for an interesting read

I wish someone would reprint System Mauser.
More to the topic, The Gift of Fear is a good read on why it's okay to listen to your subconscious and let yourself be suspicious of people.

What's this now? Am I to understand these things are useless to me?
If so, that's a relief, trying to finish 'combat' was getting to be a drag through Grossman's heavyhanded theme and leitmotif.
Best series I've ever read. It's fiction but it has to do with the cold war.
