Taurus vs Bersa? Which south americans make the better guns? Also any other south american guns that amerigans can buy?
>>
>>30776447
>Taurus vs Bersa
I've had both and while I think Bersa is a better made gun they are very last century in design and production. Taurus at least tries to innovate.
>>
>>30776358
I have to agree. My millenium g2 has gone through at least a couple hundred rounds and haven't had a malfunction.

My Millenium Pro has been pretty good to me. Its only notable problem has been it doesnt like steel cased Tula ammo. Does the G2 have a brtter trigger then the spongey piece of shit on the Mil Pro?

No.

I get a lot of ftf with steel cased or cheap ammo. Never had an issue with decent brass. I practice with tulammo and wolf, carry with hornady or similar.

Its not a great gun, but I love it.

The g2 trigger isn't bad actually. I dont feel any sponginess at all. All in all a decent gun while not the best it performs.

It's kinda like a slightly chubby girlfriend. You may like it and some others dont mind but jackasses will look at you like you're the next Hilter.

9/10 of them are just fine and will work every time you need them to but that remaining 1/10 is a pretty big margin for a gun company to be playing with. Most modern semi-auto companies are operating at 9,999/10,000 and so Taurus, probably rightfully, gets a lot of crap for that.

I have a PT145 millpro and a 605 revolver and have never had any problems with either, guess I got one of the 9 that were good on both.

Could you do better? Yes. Could you do worse? Yes.
>>
>>30777709
Taurus, Rossi and MagTech are owned by the same people.

They have a monopoly on firearms in Brazil, for what little civilian market there is for guns in Brazil (due to horrible laws), there's really only Taurus and Rossi which is newly available, MagTech is the name of the game with ammo.

In Brazil, they generally sell civilians lower quality stuff, the 24/7 pistol was infamously found to trip the sear if gently jostled, as a number of scared shitless and injured policemen found out, this wasn't an issue with the ones in foreign markets.

MagTech ammo is generally considered cheap and filthy burning shit, in the Brazil market, it's even worse, and it's basically all you have.

If we're gonna compare a Rossi or Taurus revolver to a Smith & Wesson or Ruger revolver, the American ones win out without question.

If we're gonna compare automatic pistols, Taurus makes some shoddy ones, but they're pretty good at the Beretta clones, as the tooling they're using for that is mostly original Beretta tooling.

I wouldn't say the Taurus PT92 is quite as good as the Beretta 92FS, but it's by no means a bad gun in itself.
Factory magazines have become shit in recent years (flimsier metal, shitty springs), but Beretta pistol magazines are the same dimensions and all aside from the hole for the magcatch, which you just have to enlarge a little and it'll fit in the Taurus fine, or, you can buy high quality magazines straight from MecGar (which now comes in 18rd capacity, flush fitting).

If you want a Beretta but want a frame safety, the Taurus pistol isn't a bad option.

I want to actually love my Taurus but you guys won't let me.
>>
>>30779670
i want to love them too because of the judge and some other interesting models, but after i used a pt709 for a while and read up on some other issues (like the one that magically fires when you shake it) i sort of got turned off. It's not bad, but I realized that, in my opinion, it was just an entry level tier pistol quality wise.

Taurus may not be complete garbage but they seem to do enough goofy shit to keep their name soiled.

hello brazil
>>
So I own a Taurus. A PT1911.
The gun itself I like quite a bit, with one minor exception, its worked like a charm. It shoots well, feels nice in my hand, everything you'd want from a well made pistol.
Now the exception, and why I will never under any conditions recommend a Taurus to anyone.
The ambi-thumb safety wasn't properly seated when I got the gun. I could have used another ~1\64th inch of seating depth. Because of that, it snapped off. The small flange broke on the contact point of the two from the other side.
Taurus customer service are complete and utter assholes. I spent over an hour on hold for their "service" line, no answer. I call their "sales" line I get an answer in 2 rings. Fuck that. Then I have to get lectured about how I broke the gun, how I have to pay to send it in, how I have to pay for the replacement parts, how I have to insure it to get it shipped back. Come on guys, its $31 in parts. You cant just send it to me?
Fuck them. Never again.
NOPE.
tl;dr
gun=good, customer service=worst in the industry.

>>
>>30780084

BR anons have been saying that Taurus has been in the shitter ever since Brazil put draconian restrictions on firearms imports. The lack of competition makes them slack off on QC and maybe even materials.

Apparently their Beretta clones are still good somehow.
>>
>>30780446
Why don't hues just buy IMBEL shit then?
>>
>>30776318
They actually LOOK really nice.

If it can compete with an FNX in terms of quality it would completely be worth a purchase.

It looks like what I would imagine if an FNX and an XD had a baby.

Anyone actually shot the thing?

>>
>>30780480
Because tariffs and import restrictions.

Realistically, Rossi and Taurus is all you can get in Brazil, unless you find something old which is grandfathered, but you'll pay a hefty sum for that.
>>
>>30780446
Another hue anon here, can confirm.

The import bans made them go full shit. Even more than before.

>>30780480
Pretty much anyone that knows shit about guns buy Imbels instead of Taurus, the problem is that Imbel is a state-owned company, and the state/army doesn't have the smaller interest in selling arms to civilians, they ceased production of the single stack .380 ("allowed" caliber for most civies here), leaving only the bigger MD1GC (double stack 3" 1911 ) and MD2 (bull 5" double stack) available, which are harder to CC (fuck the licenses).

Also, you need to put a request to the factory to purchase one and you might have a waiting of 3-6 months due to their production lines not working all year.
>>
>>30776447
You want Beretta clones and garbage or walther clones and guns nobody ever mentions?
>>
>>30779756
So do I and I'll buy one if I ever find one for $250 or something. I like how generic it is. Should just be called the Taurus Gun. That being said I fucking hate them as a company

>>30780446
Last o heard the PT clones dipped a bit but I don't care. Old ones are cheap AF.

also they lobby the shi1t out of my no guns country so evne the police can't buy glocks, it's terrible!
>>
>>30780251
Dude, if you want a 1911, just buy a Rock Island for another 50 bucks. The Philippines have as much experience with 1911's as the U.S. does. They aren't great, but I've out shot Remington and Ruger 1911's with it.
>>
>>30783420

Tisas is arguably better than RIA.
>>
>>30783433
No experience with Tisas, so I can't say anything either way about them. That said, I think I won the lotto with the RIA I have, the fitment of everything on this gun is great.
>>
>>30783433
Yeah but monetarily supporting turks is kind of as morally questionable as monetarily supporting Taurus
>>
>>30783980

When the Turks stop making high quality knockoffs like Tisas and Canik, I'll give that more thought. Until then, it's some of the best value for dollar in the gun world today.

And? A couple hundred rounds is a shit measurement. Hit 1k minimum before you start talking about reliability. Taurus guns are notoriously shitty. Yes I've shot some.
