Does anyone know what the cable from the body to the weapon is for?
>>
>>30770022
lanyard

this is common sense anon
>>
So you could pull it out after getting it stuck in your ass like a stiny of anal beads
>>
>>30770022
It's to keep the bullets charged. soldiers don't often use their sidearms so the bullets can die from not being used.
>>
>>30770037
String*
>>
>>30770022

To attach the weapon to the dude. Next question.
>>
And here we see a picture of an operator taking his pet 92FS for a walk.
>>
Saves money on batteries
>>
>>30770022
The battery pack added about 20oz to the gun so they put in on your belt and just use a cord.
>>
If anything, it's to not get fucking yelled at for not having your sidearm on you. A Marine buddy of mine got his ass reamed for not having his M9 on him at camp or something.

To demonstrate to the soldier the interconnectedness of existence of all caught withing the cycle of death and rebirth so that he might, someday, escape connection to desire and suffering and through understanding this attain nirvana.
>>
>>30770132
This is only the exoteric teaching. The esoteric teaching stipulates that it is a bond between the higher forces of martial virtue and nobility with the Aryan man. Using it he can channel the energy of the Odin-Godhead to better ward off the agents of the demiurge, i.e. the Jews.
>>
>>30770022
So he can put it in the vending machine and yank it out afterwards to get a free soda.
>>
>>30770022
checked

So that if in the clusterfuck that is combat you need to do something with your hands and don't have time to properly holster your pistol you dont lose the damn thing because you had to drop it.
>>
>>30770022
It´s claearly a not a gun. thats a one of those old phones.
>>
>>30770248
>thinking the demiurge is malignant
>thinking jews serve the demiurge and not the lesser archons

you'll never understand our reality without a connection and relationship with the creator.

it's the power adapter for his sights

idk why this isn't obvious and common knowledge

They're surprisingly useful for vehicle ops...

I know a guy who would've lost his M9 had it not been secured by a lanyard after it fell out of his holster while he was trying to squeeze into an MRAP... It just dangled off the side of the truck as it drove back to his FOB...
>>
>>30772030
I heard a similar story from my gunny about a young LT who dropped his lanyarded M9 out of the humvee before a three hour convoy. It was still connected, but the slide had been pretty much ground off by the friction.
>>
>>30772172
I had my Mk23 shake out of the drop leg multiple times in an MRAP before I got a good fitted Kydex for it.
>>
>>30770022
The pistol interfaces with the soldier's radio to make for extremely accurate shots using radio telemetry data.
>>
>>30772680

What branch/mos were you in that you carried a Mk23?
>>
>>30770022

When the LZ is too hot for evac, a true operator can swing the pistol above his head. This forms a personal helicopter for emergency extractions

>>30770022
garroting people for human shields
>>
>>30774113
Not him by I was in the Next Generation Special Forces program, where we were VR trained with top kit. We answered directly to the DoD, which received a lot of funding post 9/11, which accounts for the distribution of top kit. We were issued Mk23s with the LAM modules.
>>
>>30774208
You know what they say about those vr trained soldiers, no social skills and a predisposition towards simulopsychosis and agoraphobia
>>
>>30770295
Obviously a nokia.

>>30770022
To strangle oneself if the first choice of suicide weapon, the pistol, is out of order.
Pretty obvious here OP.
>>
For SF operators to strangle posted guards in total silence.

Nah, fuckit, I like that on better: >>30774131

Hey, the Force XXI concept is alright and is meant to be a supplement to field training.

Gene therapy on the other hand...

Top kek
>>
>>30770022
Its so he can let a buddy borrow it, and the buddy can speak to the gun and the operator will hear him speak in his bussom (kinda like those string and cup things kids used to make)

We arent issued sidearms stupid fuck. Some of our gunners would put in requisitions for a sidearm, but like all of our requisitions, it should arrive on someones desk for approval in 6-13 deployments. Most of us just illegally got shit from home. Then they put an end to that and we had to turn in all oir PMAGs.
Thank the fuck Christ we werent in a large scale war or we would have literally murdered half our officers and support staff.

I was a 25B at the time in an SF group SIGDET, our arms room had traded out M9s to a battalion for their Mk23s.
>>
>>30770022
THe use of pistol lanyards goes back to the days when pistols were the primary armament of cavalry. . As in pike and musket days and volly fire in the use of a caracole. It prevented you from losing it in the pitch of battle/bucking horse/ transitioning to another single shot weapon etc.

In modern use it prevents you from losing your weapon and I believe it is still Army regulation that all pistols must be lanyard-ed for that reason and dropping etc.
>>
It's an ammo feeding tube, so you don't have to reload

One of the guys in this photo posted on /k/ a while back. Can't remember what he was, but they weren't super secret squirrel types. They all got issued Mk23s. Probably hand-me-downs from the SEALs when they decided not to use them.

10th SF Group.
>>
>>30775987
We did some serious ones too, but no sidearms out in that one.
>>
>>30776167
I just realized you posted first after I did. I saved it because nobody really uses the Mk23, and it's usually associated with SEALs.

Why exactly did you guys want to Mk23 over the M9? And did anybody actually get to use them defensively? If so, did the .45 stoppan powah work better than 9mm?
>>
>>30770022
I imagine it's just for weapon retention
you don't loose your gun if it falls out of your holster
or if you don't have a rifle (because you are a support gunner or operating artilery etc) you can drop your handgun and go straight back to whatever it was you were doing

or for troops too ass fucked to be trusted with valuable equipment without being tied to it
maybe that

>>30770075
did lol

>Does anyone know what the cable from the body to the weapon is for?
It's for the tengu positive reinforcement feedback system. Every time you shoot a protester you get a pleasure center hit in your pants. Darpa engineers finally said "fuck robots, no seriously why not miniaturized fuck robots that drive our soldiers?"

The jackbooted soldier of yesteryear will now be jackpanted.
>>
>>30776167
I remember when this pic was first posted and you described that all were attached to SF, not SF yourselves.
>>
>>30776198
SF teams get priority, their battalion wanted the M9s, so they traded their 23s. We got them because we were the only Detachment that regularly went off base in the company. And while with JHPs the Big Three calibers are pretty much the same, with ball ammo you do get better results from .45.

Luckily I never got into a gunfight, and even if I did get into one I had 8 mags on my armor and a linked pair in my rifle on convoys.

We did have our own range with steel targets for pistol, I loved shooting the Mk23.
>>
>>30776279
And I haven't changed that stance. Not everybody in Group is 18 series.
>>
>>30776464
Your first post here very much muddled that with contextual implications. I was just checking.
