Is a window necessary?
Is there anything bad about Gen 3 PMAGs?
Ask things about magazines.
Window is not needed.
They are not OKay magazines
>>30757968
window is best and magpul ar15 mags are goat
All I own is PMAGS, those GI mags suck dick. I hate using them when we go to the field or the range.
>>30757968
No. But it's damn cool.
Particularly when it's skeletonized.
>>30757968
Windows are not really needed. I rarely ever looked at them during my time in combat.
>>30757968
Window is ok but weight should give you a rough count anyway.
Gen 3 PMAGs are fucking amazing.
>>30757968
Best gen 3 pmags are the 40 rounders since just having 3 on you removes the need for excess weight of an additional pouch plus the weight of another 30 rd mag. If done right 40 rounders will save weight on a load out overall.
>>30757968
Gen 3 Pmags are great (at least in ARs) windows are almost purely aesthetics. Open window cna accumulate more dirt i assume so i dont bother with them
>>30758202
But how reliable are the 40 rounders compared to the 30s?
>>30758252
What game is that?
>>30757968
>Is there anything bad about Gen 3 PMAGs?
No, not really.
>>30758325
To my knowledge, that toast is not a game. It is just toast.
>>30758252
The 40's work just as good as the 30's. For me anyway
what was bad about the straight 20 rounders that they now have pmag 20 rounders that are curved?
Ermgrd
>>30759901
kek how about that

WHERE 2 PURCHASE
I got these troy battle mags for a steal and frankly the feed lips feel way too soft for reliable feeding. But maybe I'm dumb.
Are troy mags feed lips too soft?
>>30757968
>mfw windowed 10/30 FDE pmag is $32 @LGS
Why even have the window
>>30757968
The only mags I have issues with are the Gen3 windowed PMag. Makes my bolt release stick on my AR SBR.
>>30758252
They are the same as far as reliability goes and they still drop free just like my gen3 windowed pmag that came with my tavor and my translucent dark earth lancer awms also drop free. Just like the fact I can have more ammo in less space
show me your magazine piles I need to fap

By the looks of it I think it's a custom modification. Looks like he used a dremel judging the the burs.

Anyone have an opinion on the Lancer L5AWM? Is the metal lip just a gimmick?
>>30762342
No. Early Lancer mags had feedlip breaking issues so it's a genuine improvement.
Windows are bullshit. The top 15 or so rounds are obscured by the mag well anyway, so when the window is empty, that only tells you that you are at or below 15 rounds.
It's a gimmick and people fall for it, paying an extra $2 a mag to be "ahhh-purr-aye-ter."
>>30762342
Metal feed lips are NOT a gimmick. Even the gen 3 Pmags have this. It is not to aid feeding, but to prevent deformation of the feed lips on mags that are left loaded for extended periods of time. Whether plastic feed lips will deform over time with a loaded mag is debatable. I would say in almost all conditions, nothing will happen. But if your shit is in the 120 degree sun or some shit like that, then I would say it could happen.

I just count shots. Numbers aren't hard. I gots me learnt in that teaching school.
>>30762489
Reloading is opportunistic, not planned. No one is planning a reload when they are exchanging fire with someone who is 25 yards away or less. It is pure autism to think so. If you are in a close-quarters firefight with someone and you run dry, you are seeking cover, not stopping to reload. And if you are in a long-range fire fight and run dry, you just reload from your vantage point or cover.
But almost none of us civvies will ever have to deal with this.
>>30762463
Look at it practically. If you have 10 or more mags lying on a shelf it is useful to visually identify how many are loaded.
>>30762519
>visually identify how many are loaded.
The obligatory answer is "all of them"
