Looking to buy a cheapy bolt-action to take to the range.
>.22LR to save cost on ammo
vs
>.223 so I can shoot further

What do you guys think?
Show me your bolt actions, /k/!
>>

Do a .22lr
-cheaper
-easy to suppress
-can shoot all day without costing much
-accurate out to about 350m

I recommend a CZ 455, Ruger American, or Savage Mk II FVSR
>>
If it's just a range toy you can still get out to 200 yards with .22lr and a scope.
>>
>>30756972
im gettin both.

well i got a ruger 10/22 and looking for bolt action 223

Thanks guys!
Is there any weight to the argument that .22 is so much less fun than .223 its worth spending more on the latter?
>>
>>30757327
Both equally fun, you get same action. One is easier on the ears.
>>
I highly recommend the CZ 452. I've got the ultra lux.

BEAUTIFUL rifle. Very accurate and some of the best stock irons on a .22 rifle.
>>
>>30757437
Just over $300? That just took the top spot.
Thanks for the advice, looks great.
>>
>>30757554
Where did you find it for 300? What version is it?

Some have different irons. My ultra lux has range adjustable tangent sights.
>>
>>30756972
Get a savage mk 2 fvsr
$270
suppressor ready
VERY VERY accurate
>>
>>30756972
If you're shooting <200-300 yards go with .022
>>
>>30757807
My mistake, I was looking at the Scout version.
>>
>>30757942
Nothing really wrong with the scout but it's a small youth gun.

If you want a scoped rifle for sure the American is a good option, for irons shooting the lux and ultra lux are great. Pretty sure the lux has the same irons as my ultra lux

Also the mannlicher "FS" models look and feel gorgeous.
>>
>>30757151
Howa 1500
Or a cz 527
>>
>>30757327
Bro get the .223, it's much more fun to shoot and much more useful.

You can feel the recoil and "bang" with a .223
You can blow crap to shit with .223
You can hunt with .223
You can accurately shoot farther than150 meters with .223
In a desperate situation you can defend yourself with a bolt action .223

.223 is shooting
.22 is plinking

Do you want people to remember you as the plinker or The Shooter?
>>
>>30758047
I'm watching a lot of videos of .22's and it is turning me off a bit. In a bit of a tough spot deciding.
If I went .223, what would you recommend under $500?

I have one.
I like it.

Couple of things when buying.
Remove the thread protecter and look at the bore. Make sure it isnt off center.

Get some fitz and poliah the bolt. There are guids online.

Great gun. With a little work. Cz 45w is out the box great but if you want to suppress it you need to have it threaded.

Not that guy but I would check this out

>>
>>30758081
Looks great. Do you like the trigger? Seems to be one of the best parts about the gun.
>>30758105
Thanks, I'll look into it!

You da man
>>
>>30758047
>le be a man
>not knowing shooting at cans with whatever gun is still plinking
>thinking OP will ever want to shoot more than 150
>not realizing people use .22lr for long range training because you don't need as long of a range for similar practice
>not buying a $150 shotgun for home defense
>>
>>30758335
I have shot one of these with a vortex crossfire II on it and it seemed nice enough but I haven't shot it enough to say for sure
