I'm pretty much set on this AR. Anyone have anything good/bad to say about M&P 15 Sport II?
If you spent 400 more dollars you can have a much better rifle
You can also build it in pats so its easier to save
M&p is the best entry rifle though
My dad just picked one up but I havrnt had a chance to go shooting with him yet. That said I've pretty much heard good things about the Sports . Really it seems like all the entry level rifles coming out in the past 5 years are all good starting points.

i mean if you were stretching the sights, its not free float... but really nothing.
I mean the furniture is plain, but lets be honest that is the first thing your going to change.

You also may look at the Ruger AR-556

On that note, what rifle do you mean? Any recommendations at that price point?

Its what I got and I really like it. I'm not a big AR guru so it fits me fine as an AR noob

just build a stripped lower using a mil-spec parts kit the trigger of your choice and buy a complete upper from BCM
should cost about $1000

One of the best starter ARs if you're too lazy to make one. Seriously though, just build one.

It was my first AR and I never had any problems with it. I put about 2000 rounds of a mixture of brass and steel cased with no malfunctions. Then sold it to a friend for his first AR and as far as I know he hasnt had any problems yet either after at least another couple hundred rounds.
I say buy it, get acquainted to AR's, then down the road build your oww.

Good home defense rifle. Put a light on it and you should be good to go for a starter rifle
OP here.
