I want this to be my first rifle. I rented one the other day and find it incredibly comfy to hold and easy for me to keep stable. The fact 5.7 leans on the pricey side does not bother me.

Redpill me on the PS90 and FN products, /k/. Should I buy?

If you like it and intend on shooting it, then go ahead and get it. /k/'s going to spit memes at you for wanting one, but honestly there's nothing wrong with it apart from the ammo being in in the .45ACP range.

Personally I wouldn't get it for my /first/ gun, but I wouldn't have any qualms for one to be in my collection.

/k/ will spout memes, but if you have the money and it is a gun you want then get it. I have shot one, it is fun, it is comfy. Just get a tax stamp so you can get rid of that damn extension, and consider reloading your own ammo considering it is a bit pricey, you could cut down on the price enough to be worth it.

The actual P90, the gun you like from CoD, is full auto, and because of that the short ass barrel and tiny round are acceptable, because that's its role. It's designed to be compact and controllable under full-auto.

The civie version however isn't compact or full auto, leaving you with a very expensive .22 firing the most expensive plinking ammo possible.

The only reason to get it is because you like the looks, and if you like the looks so much that you want to get it no matter what, why are you even asking?

>Asks for opinions on a gun

>>30745724
>Personally I wouldn't get it for my /first/ gun
If you have the money it seems like a pretty decent starter to me, .22 mag memes aside, the 5.7 is a relatively small and light recoiling cartridge and the PS90 is a very ergonomic and handy little rifle. It's also a simple weapon to take down and clean.
>>

It also wouldn't fit, because of the full barrel

I've got one, OP. It's pretty cool, but not perfect. If you can get one with the older metal black reticle sight, that would be a really handy thing to have. The rail with tiny peep sight that it comes with new ones not very good. The peep sight has too small of a field of view, and the factory rail is so high that you can barely get a cheek weld if you mount an optic to that. I put a micro red dot on mine with a special mount that lets me mount it a little lower, but it's just not as sleek as a factory reticle sight.

This is really not a "fighting rifle," IMO, if you are looking to get something to replace an AR 15. Mag changes are slow and spare mags are hard to carry. The trigger is pretty heavy, making rapid fire difficult. I've never had a malfunction, but I have heard (and can imagine) that clearing malfunctions can be clumsy and time-consuming.

The one big negative that I notice when shooting it, though, is that because the sight is so high above the bore, it will always hit noticeably low at ranges closer than what you use to zero it. I sighted mine in at about 50 yards and it hits a few inches low even at 25 yards, which is the maximum I can shoot it at the local indoor ranges. That means that unless you want to zero yours at close ranges, in which case it would likely shoot higher than POI at ranges beyond where you zero it, you're always going to have to compensate a little bit for the height of the optic over the bore. If there's a better way, then someone please let me know.

Why does the middle gun have a top horizontal mag and a bottom vertical mag?

Is the bottom one a brass catcher?

That's definitely a p90 style mag on top but it looks like an AR15 receiver. I'm really confused.

The AR57 uses the P90 mags and ejects through the AR lower's magwell as far as I know.

My first thoughts were probably wrong:
>Something identifying obviously.
>Probably a registration number that could be linked back to him in the event of the weapon being stolen and later recovered from a thief/fence/gunshop when it's resold.
>Here we put driver's license numbers on stuff like this, that looks like a registration system since it ends with 'gun trust'.

But in order to properly humiliate you, I googled first and learned about gun trusts.
https://blog.princelaw.com/2011/01/12/gun-nfa-trust-frequently-asked-questions/

So basically those guns are owned by a trust that anon set up, which means that anon's family can also use them without any extra paperwork beyond joining the trust and makes buying the suppressors and maybe other things much easier. Since anon has some obscure parts in there, they've probably done a bit of buying and smoothing the paperwork is worth the trouble of a trust.

Also they can pass on the guns to the kids without much hassle.

yes, in your worthless opinion. Tell me, did you actually think about the difference in distance between sight center axis and top of the stock when you made your 100% banal comment? With the DMachine mount, the cheek weld is very natural. Unless you have a factory ghost ring sight, if you wish to use optics on a P/S90, You must lower the sight axis. not a lawyer here, but I think you only have to process him if you're putting new items into your trust.

Storing any gun in a foam case is he worst environment you can put a gun in for storage, begging for rust.
>>
>>30748347
not if you plan ahead and put in reusable desiccants, pham.
>>
FN ar's are trash, made on seperate lines and with lower quality components then what they make for the military.
>>
>>30748377

I did that when I first got into guns, it got old having to bake the desiccant every week, the foam is a sponge for moisture.

I own one. Here's what you need to know:

• Easy to clean
• Very Low Recoil
• Ammo is fucking expensive

It's a fun gun, if you can afford to feed it.

>Ammo is fucking expensive
no it's not. PSA routinely has deals for them at around 40c a round.
>>

beauty is largely subjective, and though you're clearly a man of unfortunately poor taste, it is not my right to judge you for that.

HOWEVER,
>.I also don't like how if you put a sight of any kind on it its like 6 inches higher than the rest of the gun.

This, to me, read as a criticism against the ergonomics of the rifle, and I responded accordingly.

Are you saying your comment was not about the commonly cited issue of the large distance between barrel and sight bore axis for the P/S90? If so, my tirade was undeserved.

Its just ugly. The gun itself is fine, but the rail is ugly as fuck to me
>>
>>30748184
I've always wondered if one could build a sort of mirror sight that hangs off the end of the rail and moves vision to just above the barrel.
>>
>>30745715
You can always make it full auto. It's probably just a matter of opening up the gun with a screwdriver and removing a pin or something.

>under a grand

WHERE? I can't seem to find a new one for under $1,200.
>>
>I want this to be my first rifle
Don't. I owned one for a while, but this is a really bad gun for you to start learning the basics (note that I didn't say it wasn't a bad gun in general). It's very unconventional in just about every respect, and it's optimal you learn with something that isn't so out there.

As for the gun proper, the trigger isn't what I'd call great, even after polishing, and aftermarket is pretty barren. For me it was never anything more than a range toy novelty, but I have seen a few very rabid adherents to the gun here that seem to view it as a very viable SHTF/survival/general rifle. I'm doubtful about a lot of their assertions, but it's better to get a view across the spectrum.
>>
>>30752037
I imagine the PS90 could be a pretty great varmint gun. It shoots straight as a string out to about 250 yards and you could take out anything that's coyote-sized and under. That's how I'd justify it's purchase as being something more than a novelty range toy.

>>30747000
>factory rail is so high that you can barely get a cheek weld if you mount an optic to that
Considering the role of this weapon and the optic attached(mostly RDS), this is a non-issue.
Well maybe not non-issue, but it's definitely doable.

>I want this to be my first rifle.

There's your mistake, that's a sub-machine gun.

Seriously they're cool, I love the PS90, but I can't get over that barrel. Get an AR or an AK until you can afford an SBR stamp, then get the sbr version.
>>
>>30752291
i'll take buffing for $300 Alex
>>
Does having the optic up so high mess with aiming when changing the distance to the target or is it barely noticeable?

pretty sure that's the problem, genius

>polishing the fcg doesn't do anything
>hahaha you thought it'd do something, i am laffin
>that's the issue fucknut, it doesn't salvage the trigger
>lemme get home
so, what, you'll contradict yourself, or you'll prove the original assertion. what the fuck is your angle?
>>
>>30745596
It wasn't my cup of tea when I had one, ended up selling it and all my 5.7 ammo post Sandy Hook for like $3000+ but thats just my own taste.

You said you tried it and liked it. If you see yourself using it and having fun then thats reason enough to buy it.
