I've seen people shot with .50 bmg, through a thermal scope. They instantly die and crumple into a heap, like god flipped their on-off switch.

It does'nt blow them in half or anything crazy but the hydrostatic shock or something kills them quicker then the hole punched through does. I've also never heard of anyone surviving a hit.
