Yeah, shooting that much at once will leave you bruised, light loads and a heavy gun or not.
I lost my gun virginity on a clay range. The sport itself doesn't really appeal to me - like Olympic air rifle, it's just too damn gamey.

The firmer you seat the stock into your arm and chest the less you will notice the recoil. The first time I fired 100 rounds my shoulder turned purple, but after that I learned to absorb the recoil better and only got minor surface bruising from the pressure.
