If you could go back in time and pick your first handgun over again what would you pick?

What caliber?

I am currently trying to decide on my first learn to shoot handguns gun. 9mm and something in 15rds so probably a Glock 19 or cz75.

How are CZ75 compared to compact?
>>
>>30636905
My first handgun was a USP .45. I wouldn't change anything, I love this pistol.
>>
I bought a Glock 17, because I couldn't find a CZ75 anywhere in southern Illinois.

Just finger fuck a few at a gunshop. You'll see the things that you like and don't like.

Stop bumping cancer. This is why we can't have nice things.

Double posting to bump twice, mine was a glock 17 and I'm pretty pleased. Everyone should own at least one glock, so you might as well buy a glock now.
>>
Sig SP2022 yay or nay?
>>
>>30636905
Got a glock 19 first.

If I could go back I would have gotten a cz-75, sig p226, p230 or something older, like a hi-power or one of the metal smith and wesson's

My first handgun was my father's Model 13-3
Obviously I would never choose something over that

Meanwhile the first handgun i bought was a Ruger SP101
Love it
But, I probably would also love. Walther P99

This or PPQ. Sig SP2022 is fine too. These are all good choices, hold a few and buy whatever you like,
>>
CZ 75 SP-01. Was my first handgun and still my favorite.
>>
>>30636905
I would've gotten a glawk 19 instead of a 23.
>>
My first handgun was a Mauser C96.
Worked a whole summer for it.
No, I don't regret it.
>>
>>30636905
my first handgun was a Russian Makarov.

Wouldn't change, still own and enjoy it.
>>
Why do people like CZs so much? are they reliable and good for self defense, or just more fun to shoot than others?
>>
First was a Bulgarian makarov. Wouldn't have picked anything else
>>
>>30636905
Heckler & Koch P7M13, because prices have gotten retarded. My first handgun was a S&W 640 (357 snub).
>>
>>30638205
why?
>>
>>30636905

Glock 21

.45 stronk
>>
>>30636905
P2000 in 9mm.
>>
>>30636905
glock 19 or a sig 226 or sig p220.

Buy the elite scorpion or the new legion sig sauers.
>>
mk25 or usp tactical. oh well at least i have two pistols to look forward to buying for special occasions
>>
>>30636905
i would skip all the trying to find the perfect handgun bullshit and just buy a glock from the get go. ive owned cz75 sp01, p01, Beretta 92fs, ria 1911, sw sigma, sw m&p. still own some of em and have sold others off
most of the non glocks are still fine handguns they would excel at one attribute while sucking shit in another. meanwhile the glock is slightly above average and the only downside is looks. the glock could do everything the others could with no negatives. i would get a 17. the 19 rubs me the wrong way and is skippable if you own multiple handguns. 26 is too small to be shot recreationally

My first handgun was a Walther P1, I wouldn't change that decision.
>>
first handgun 228 because i thought CID agents were cool

>my platoon had to cart them around
>turns out they're pretty lame, #MallCops of federal agents

anyway, would do again
>>
>>30637590
I too am from so. Il. Harrisburg area. Lets arrange a shoot.
>>
Glock 32 instead or 26. I'd end buying a G26 also, but probably third after the 32 and a sig p238.
>>
>>30639418
357 sig meme caliber was meme'd out a decade ago friend
>>
>>30639496
Yeah, but i like it. You cant choose what you like.
>>
>>30639511
oh man, hit me right in the feels

the compulsion of liking on popular shit

i know dat pain

>at least its not some truly oddball shit like 7.62x40WT or 6x45
>>
I'm going to move stateside in the next year from a commie country. I know as soon as I can I'll buy a Sig p320. If not just becasue of Lord Dugans video about them.
>>

I picked a CZ75
Don't think I would change that, though may or may not have gotten a higher-end model (they had a nice model with fibre optic sights and a trigger upgrade as well).
Love this gun regardless though
>>
First handgun was a Star 9mm BM that my dad gave me on my 17th birthday. Still use it at me beater carry. There isnt another gun in the world i would have rather gotten

>>
>>30639589
Australia. I'm so ashamed of this place I don't even like to mention it most of the time. Obviously I meant commie as in lack of freedom. Not in the literal sense.
>>
>>30639626
god they shitted up y'alls laws

I'm moving to EU for a while soon because reasons but know I'll wind up back in the States after a few years

gotta figure out where to ditch the funs, including a can and SBR while I'm out

>hopefully Oregon will remain bro about pot, concealed carry, short barrels and being quiet forever
>sane leftists have bigger fish to fry than gun shit, we promise
>>
My first was a 1911 build. No regrets, though I traded it for my .300 win mag so I dunno.
>>
>>30639571
Why decocker?
>>
Walther PPQ M1, I sometimes wish I would have gotten the HK b/c of the aftermarket support, but I still love it
>>
>>30639685
It's what they had, I was fairly indifferent to whether it had the decocker or manual safety
>>
>>30639662
Not just fun laws either. Every element of life is interfered with by overbearing laws and our shitty government. They just started with guns so no one could argue.

Oh man... All these blued guns with apparent wear
>>
>>30636905
I would go back and change my 22lr Heritage Rough Rider to a 45 Long Colt
>>
>>30639241
Would one of these used in 9mm going for 350 bucks be a good choice?
>>
definitely go to the store and ask to handle a few. I was dead set on a PPQ but I went and held it and I didn't like it, felt blocky and cheap. I decided on an HK P30SK and I couldn't be happier, great for concealed carry and still fun to shoot.
>>
>>30639152
Didn't try an H&K? Sounds like you want a perfect pistol. That's where I'd suggest looking.
>>
>>30640342
ive fired them and sigs
hk was nice but large wouldnt mind owning one but no rush
sigs controls are misplaced
>>
>>30636905
First handgun was a Beretta 96fs.
Only gun I have sold and not regretted at some point later. Good fucking riddance.

Would go with a Sig 226 if I had it to do over.
>>
What advantage does CZ75 have over CZ75 Compact?

Aluminum lower vs steel?
>>
>>30636905
My first handgun was a CZ52 for 150. Wouldn't change a thing, its not the cheapest caliber but still reasonable and the gun feels good for my big hands combined with a heavy slide for good recoil control. The caliber is accurate so I have an accurate ergonomic gun with good recoil control. The only rhing I don't like is the European mag release and the fact its not double stacked. However it can go through level 3 plates do 9 rounds should kill whatevers in front of the barrel.
>>
>>30636905
92fs, because I didn't know what I wanted anyway and it would be cool to have. I'm so far down the 1911 rabbit hole that I will probably never own one now.
