Dispersion came in the crye cut. You couldn't have picked just about anything more expensive to like.

Telny has 3(4?) smocks, every one being one of the different variants. (Urban, woodland, alpine, and a new marine one just came out)

That camo looks like complete shit, to be honest. Way too much white to blend in anywhere, and the colour green they used has a heavy blue tinge. Is that supposed to even work?

>>30597062
It honestly doesn't work for jack shit for where he lives, as it's really meant to be something like Alpine-Urban, Alpine-Woodland, Alpine-Alpine, etc.

The only one that kind of works maybe is the urban one when you're backed up against a semi white-washed red clay brick wall.

Pretty niche effectiveness if you ask me.

It'd work against the red bricks if they were broken to expose a lighter shade. That's the idea.

It's Urban, a second version of Urban and an alpine snowline design.

there's just too much white. It's too white-washed to blend in anywhere with actual trees and greenery. Maybe if they didn't have so much white in it, and had richer colours, it would be more effective.

I can't see that camouflaging someone in any environment other than maybe the middle one in a very frosty, late-fall early-winter pine forest, and even then there'd be better camos to use

I don;t disagree about the white, but I don;t think it should be poo-pooed as quick as it is.

The green is supposed to work against snow after all, the pinks..well they could be darker, but we have a lot of red brick in the UK so it makes sense in context.

I know wearing surplus outside the house is a sperg thing to do, but some of it is just comfy and lets be honest, cool as fuck. I've tried on some uniform jackets at my local surp store, and I found the USMC charlie (I think) to be very comfortable. Would it be wrong for me, a non vet, to wear one? Spergness aside, would I piss off current and former service members if I get it? It's not like an unmarked M65 that's I guess fashionable, it's got Sergeant chevrons on it, and is clearly military even if you're not knowledgeable. Should I attempt to find one without chevrons or anything on it? It was really comfortable, which is hard to find comfortable clothes for me.
>>
>>30598436
Don't wear one with rank markings you didn't earn.

Other than that, go nuts. I've been using a CS95 windproof smock as a winter jacket for a decade.
>>
>>30598454
>Don't wear one with rank markings you didn't earn.
which is exactly why I asked, because I felt weird about it. If anyone would ask me I'd certainly tell me I'm not a vet, but the rank chevrons would still feel weird.

Any idea where I can find one without patches? Should I just wait for them to get one in?

Where would I find some PNV-57E Soviet-era NVG's? I hear a few years ago they were huge milsurp and were basically the Moist Nugget of NVG's, but like the Mosin surplus, it seems to be drying up somewhat. They used to go for $150 or less when they were in large supply, much like the Mosin. I've looked on eBay and Amazon, and the cheapest I could find it was $600. At that point it's better to buy modern gen 2-3 monoculars/binoculars instead of an outdated gen-1 DC powered Russian fisheye NVG's. But goddamnit I want a pair or two, and I can't seem to find any for reasonable prices

From what I can see in your pictures, the chinstrap looks like the normal post-vienam style of US M1 helmet chinstrap anyway. The weave of the chincup is pretty obvious, the thread used is very thick and almost seems a little cheap, while on the other hand the chincup in >>30603493 uses a finer weave which is more like a standard webbing weave instead of the thicker weave used on the US ones.

From what I've heard from vets they actually didn't do a whole lot. My friends' dad was RDF, 82nd Airborne M60 gunner, said he did nothing his whole service.

irc: anonymity!
